Audio connection box, different sets of connection cabels?

Postby Jesh » Sun Apr 11, 2010 6:16 am

I just installed the Audio Connection Box (tune point) in my Megane 2006.
The problem is I don't get any more options in my HU source (Update list mp3). Do you have to somehow activate the cdchanger in the settings of the HU?

I wish it's that simple. The manual doesn't say anything about it, and I have not been able to find it myself browsing the menus. Anyone know how?

Press and hold note symbol until you get into Expert mode. You'll get AF on/off, LW, MW, iNews, Auto volume, and Aux on/off. Scroll to Aux off (default setting), choose Aux on with volume control (+/-). Done. It should work unless something's wrong with instalation.

Thanks, now I have an Aux option at last ;) The Audio Connection Box doesn't work though, seems it doesn't get no power. Maybe they're availible with different cables? The iso cable I got with it didn't fit until I did some modification to it. Or maybe it only works with newer versions of the HU?

You shouldn't of had to do any modifications. They both fit on the same connector regardless of tuner or update list. ??!!

Thanks for the reply.

Anyway. I add two images to illustrate my problem.

The first one shows the back of my radio.
The second image shows the cable I got with the Audio Connection Box. The ISO fits fine (edit: no it didn't. Just remebered I had to cut it in two). But as you can see, the red one (with the green circle) will not fit. That's the one I modified, but that didn't work ;)

So the question is, does the Audio Connection Box come with different sets of cables, maybe I got the wrong one?

Will call my local renault dealer on monday, doubt they know anything about it though.

It seems the box is availible as three different product numbers, depending on connection cabels.

That didn't help me though, as the box wasn't compatible with my 2006 at all. A new box will (according to my dealer) be released in France tomorrow. It will take a week before I get mine...
