Radio Issues

Hi,

Again, sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum (2nd post so far:))

I have found that if I depress a peddle and press the start button the car starts - as you would expect. However the radio does not work correctly, the radio station is displayed and it then goes into scan mode. If however I press the start button to initiate the electrics, THEN start the car it works fine.

My dealer wants to take my radio out to have it looked at, but it will leave me without a radio for 3 weeks.

Anyone heard of this issue or another work around?

I've no idea about your specific problem but the two things I would try before letting anyone loose on it would be to remove the power from the radio for 5 minutes or so by removing its fuses (there's more than one associated with the radio) or disconnecting the battery or else another might be to turn the radio on with the ignition off and let it play for its 20 minute cycle until it switches itself off. One or other of these might 'reset' the radio.
