im also looking at IPOD connectivity in my 04 authentique-

looking at this i was wondering

a) is it a lot of hassle?

b) would i be better off using a radio transmitter with an FM signal that i already have?

Hi keeforelli! What king of HD have you got (Tuner List or Update LIst)? If you have one of those I think you are looking something like this

a) Its pretty easy to install, just take out the HD and plugged it in the cd changer ISO (I'm not sure if you call like this), and thats it
b) You get crystal clear sound, the steering controls and LCD Screen working (for the USB INTERFACE I bought)

No this wont work with a 'tuner list' CD player as it does not have an AUX in.. that blue connection in the picture.. you need an 'update list' or later player for this device to work with.

Mate I plugged it yesterday and it worked perfect with my tuner list
Now i can hear my favorite songs from a USB Stick without loosing steering wheel control and LCD Screen
It also provides an AUX IN and SD Reader, so you can hear music from SD Cards or your MP3 Player

All the head units will send a message to see if there is a CD-Change connected. These devices mimic being a CD-Changer and thus respond, letting the head unit know that there's an extra input available.
