Hi there,
Had my megane a month now and assessing some stereo options - I currently have an 'update list' (I assume it's this as it says 'update' on the front right of the unit) with the six-disc changer in my '07 dci.
Pretty convinced that I'm going to upgrade the front speakers to the made-to-fit pioneer ones, but really want more power from my headunit.
I have a single-din Alpine headunit (barely used) from my old car that I'm keen on using but like the idea of filling the double-din space with something more substancial. This would mean selling the Alpine, however, and I'm sure it would make better money sense to keep it and use it. I would have to fill the lower din space, though. Any ideas?
As for rear speakers; I could fiddle about changing them to slighly better ones but they will still be small and I fancy placing some 6x9s on the rear shelf (as it looks like it could support them) but I need to know how to take the signal that would go to the rears - can I access the wire easily from the boot?
I have a Sony Xplod amp and sub from my old car (still in good cond) but I don't fancy routing the power and signal cables through the car (leavering up nice neat trim, etc) and think that uprated speakers front and rear will suffice.
Any help appreciated!

Re: Rear speaker wiring for 6x9s
I am going to be putting a single din Alpine into mine hopefully the weekend.
I was tempted to sell the 9855 I have and get a nice flip out TV unit, but I am meant to be saving so I should really stick with what I have.
You can purchase a dash pocket from Renault that fills in the gap below a single din, I just ordered one today for £5.01. I also ordered a stalk adaptor as well for using the existing stalk to control the Alpine from InCarTec.
Just have a search in this section and you will find all you need, thats how I found out the info too.
Will be changing head unit, front speakers, rear speakers and wiring some amps up all being well

So does anyone know if you can access the rear speaker wiring from the boot?

The wiring will be built into the loom so in theory will be able to access the loom in the door well but wouldnt like the guessing to which wire it is - personally best just to remove the interior side panel and then you got the correct wires there right in front of you.

Just revisited this post.
No not yet as I ended up buying a new unit

At the moment I have only started tonight after the last 3 days cleaning the paintwork on the car, my dad always used a sponge and I hate the things, shines like its never shined before now after all the polishing amd PC'ing, well worth it though. Now onto the ICE.
So far I have removed the changer, head unit, glovebox has been removed and the trim down the left hand side, tomorrow I will be removing the door cards also to see about this weather guard and do a new one so my speakers will fit.
Was hoping to put the unit in the bottom slot but the cubby hole for the dash is for the lower part
