Tunepoint Screen Display

Postby Geebee.uk » Thu Apr 10, 2008 11:24 am

Hi,

Will be shortly taking delivery of a new Tech Run 08 Megane that has a fitted tunepoint system.

Does anybody have any pics of the Megane Screen display showing the Tunepoint in use? Just wondered what will be displayed if anything, i.e. Track Name, Title, Duration etc? Is it able to be fully controlled from the steering wheel remote?

Also will I ned to get a lead to fit it or do you use the normal Apple USB lead?

Glenn.

In a 2003 model the display only shows the track number and playlist number. Nothing else. The Tunepoint instruction manual doesn't make any difference between the older 2003 headunit or the newer UpdateList headunits, so I'm guessing it's the same for the 2008 model.

The remote control lets you scroll the tracks back and forth plus scroll the playlists forward. And pause the play.

Update on the tunepoint system in my new megane;

The display does indeed just show the track and playlist number, bit of a dissapointment in that respect, but pleased with having the ability to connect my iPod and USB drives. On the latter this is really easy, just copy the tracks to folders and the tunepoint recognised them. Even nested folders were recognised on a U3 disk which is really partitioned as separate drives. I didnt expect this to work and was prepared to search the net to find out how to make the drive into a single partition.

Well impressed with the new megane so far.

Glenn.
