Remove rear (in)side panels from 3 door megane

Postby meccano04 » Tue Oct 16, 2007 12:29 pm

I have read the instructions on the (complicated) procedure to remove the side panels in the 5-door, does anyone know how to remove the side panels in the 3-door and is it easier?
Ive got a 53 plate 1.4 extreme, and it didnt come with speakers so i want to look to see if it already has the wires, and how big the speakers can be (width and depth), as im going to put in the Pioneer TS-Q131C's and i think it'd be beneficial to have at least some sound filling the space from the back.

Oddly tho the head unit was set up for the 5 speaker option when i got the car...

hey i hope someone reads this, so...
I replaced my front speakers with pioneer ts-q131c's which are very nice then had the brainiac idea of trying to put the front door ones in the back panel (since there were none originally).

After doing this (and following the instructions in the maintenance manual) i think i have broken some of the clips that hold the inner panel onto the body, as the panel doesnt sit quite as well as i did before, so does anyone know the part number or anywhere i might get some from??????

if its just the little plastic clips that are attached to the panel, try renault themselves, did same thing with VW three years ago and they were able to get the clips there and then for a few quid, mind you they are german and ren are french but if your local ren dealer has a bodyshop they should have them on the shelf.

It was just the clips, the clips are in 2 parts, one part should sit in the body and the other in the panel, they should seperate but on mine some did, some came out of the panel, some out the body and some broke, it was a nightmare! I have managed by with the clips that didnt break tho so i think its fine (for now) but thanks :D

MeganeChick i found the maintenance manual for the megane and read the section that kyle linked to, i found them all tho (in pdf if anyone wants them PM me) if your going into add speakers (i.e. if the car didnt have them, remember to remove the foam grill cover (i didnt and had to go in a second time). You also have to be brave when yanking them off as they are pretty secure.

I actually took the panels off again today to put in some better speakers in the back and before putting them back on i did ring up the dealer, ... 42p a clip! so not as expensive as i had thought!
