In dash screen..

Postby Special K » Sun Dec 16, 2007 10:06 pm

Hi guys,

New to the forum.. will be picking up my megane this week sometime..

Just wanted to know if anybody had fitted a screen in the dash..

The hole looks big enough for a 7" Double Din unit... So i was thinking about putting the Pioneer Avic D3.. Just wondered if anybody has done this or similar..

Any advice would be grateful..

Thanks..

K

I'm getting a 7" flip out this week and today i moved the storage bin from the bottom to the top recess, theres only a very small gap at either side..and i noticed that the unit will sit on a cross piece inside which will support the new HU nicely, i noticed somewhere on here that someone had issues with fitting new HU's and having very little to fix the unit to..this might be an easy solution...AND the screen wont cover the heater controls too much either.

when the screen slides out in the bottom cavity does it still clear the gear stick?

Cant say it would be the same for every make, but fair to say if the screen is on top of the unit like mine it will easily clear the top of the lever, if ts mounted beneath it may just be a case of making sure you dont eject the screen when in 1st 3rd or 5th gear..
