Curve setting

Postby Hem » Mon Jul 16, 2007 3:43 pm

Hi all,

Looking for a bit of advice. I've just taken receipt of a Megane Privilege 1.9dCi Coupe Cabriolet from Motor Provider - great prices, just don't believe the lead times quoted (a common complaint against them). I've even managed to get the roof down once or twice between rainstorms!

Had a few problems with the security code which Renault Croydon kindly sorted out for me today. It seems the cd changer had not 'slaved' with the head unit so needed another code. Foolishly I drove off without checking with them first. Once you put in the code it asks for a 'Curve' setting. Does anyone know what this is does, and what it should be set to? The manual offers no advice at all. I left it set to 0 - I'm just curious as to what this actually does. Any ideas?

By the way, loving the car. Just hope we get a glimpse of summer so I can get to enjoy it.

Cheers.

Hi,

Two settings are activated when the security code is entered for the first time (according to my manual).

One is the 'curve' which alters the 'tone correction curve' to suit individual models, the other is the 'country tuner setting'.

For curve setting it says 'Make your choice (see below) using the thumbwheel of the satellite control and validate by pressing and keeping pressed the MODE button. 0 - n/a, 1 = Twingo or similar, 2 = Clio or sim, 3 = Megane o s, 4 = Laguna o s, 5 = Velsatis o s - unless your manual has an alternative setting listed.

For country it will state (by default OTHERS - which is what you want for european use), or if you skip using the thumbwheel again, it will then say US, ARABIA, ASIA. Select OTHERS by pressing and holding MODE, as above.

good luck
