Im hoping to install a sub and amp in my Megane using only its stock HU
now I understand this HU has no pre amp connection ports eg rca cables
Ive bought this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Speaker-to-RCA- ... 0593999790
it should work right? although how to actually connect it I do not know ?
secondly the amp connects to this converter obviously, then to the battery- where I do not know does anyone know? and finally the rem - remote at the back of the HU - so it only turns on with the HU
I believe lots of people have trouble finding it however this website shows it exact location
https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_265888
does anyone know how to actually connect these things like specifics
and also what would be a good amp and sub that isn't too costly
I know if their too powerful then battery modifications have to occur- no thanks
thanks

Hi mate, yes that's the right part that you need
There will be 4 wires coming out of it, + - left and + - right. Each wire needs connecting to the corresponding wire in the car off the back speakers. So + left and - left need to be connected to the rear left speaker or speaker wires, and the same goes for the right side. Once all 4 are soldered in neatly, you can connect an rca cable from your amp to the converter box. This supplies your audio output. I've not got round to installing an amp in my Megane yet, so can't help with regards to running the cable through the car, but I normally run them under the inside sill covers or carpet, hiding them. Not sure how to get the live cable through the bulkhead to the battery though, there's normally a grommet you can use but I've heard that its a pain to do on the Megane
