I have a crazy idea about a display mod.

Right, having replaced the HU with an Pioneer, i really dont have much use for the top display in my Megane II (Especially as the display module is damaged, and most segments for Clock/temperature are nonfuncioning) i figured i would disconnect the display to atleast get rid of the light from it.

I then realized the abundance of available space under that panel since i do not have a sat nav.

I then started thinking...

WHat if I was to remove the display module. Put a piece of tinted plexi there, mount a VFD display behind it, and then drop a Beagleboard black into the mix. I figured it would be a neat Place to display a variety of data pulled from OBDII and similar.

I am not really concerned about the electronical/coding part of the operation, I got more then a Little relevant background for that.

I am just trying to figure out if it is "totally ridiculous" or "a pretty cool hack"?
