Hi all,
The sound in my R26 isn't that great & I am looking at upgrading the speakers. My intentions are to keep my car 'understated', hence the lack of the F1 decals etc ... & my preference is just to find alternative speakers which can simply replace the factory fitted ones without modification etc..
I have acquired a pair of Pioneer TS-Q131C Speakers for the front, which I am reliably informed are the best ones to get as a straight replacement.
However, for the rear I have read that the best ones are Pioneer TS-E1396 Speakers, but I have looked everywhere online and cannot find anywhere which sells them any more. Is there an equivalent of these please ? Or does anyone know where I can get a pair from ?
There is a thread in the ICE section called 'What fits & where can I get it' which unfortunately doesn't include details regarding speakers. The original poster mentioned that he was going to investigate and post a list, but must not have been able to do it.
Is there such a thing as a list of compatible speakers etc ?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Gary

Re: Compatible Speakers
Just got in touch with a mate he's said that the rears are the same as the front, although the plastic is thin and so can easily be made larger to fit anything you fancy really.
I thought that was the case, so long since I put mine in I couldn't remember what Its like, all I know is I've got much bigger than standard in there now!lol
Oh also I'm assuming it's 3 door...

Re: Compatible Speakers
Thanks for the reply,
Yes, it is a 3-door.
I assumed that the TS-Q131C speakers didn't fit in the back, and have read in numerous places elsewhere that the speakers required for the rear were the TS-E1396. I searched high & low to find some for sale, and eventually found them on the German version of amazon. Will take a couple of weeks to arrive & then I've got to fit them, which doesn't look a simple task.
If what you say is right & the TS-Q131C speakers fit the rear too, then I may have wasted my time etc .... but I have read elsewhere that these will not fit in the rear without modifications (which is my ethos).
Either way, I have my speakers now, & I've just got to find the time to fit them.
Hopefully the sound will have improved after all this lol !

Re: Compatible Speakers
Hmm, strange, it seems that there is more tolerance in the back allowing larger/ smaller speakers to be fitted...
Getting to the back speakers is not too bad, I think there is a guide on her, it's not fantastic but shoul help a fair bit.
