Megane CC sound system

Postby sam-b-with-e » Wed Apr 06, 2011 8:26 pm

Hi all, I wonder can anyone help. i have owned my megane cc for 2 years and love it... However something getting to me is the sound system. I know I expect to much from a standard sound system and as basic systems go, the standard Megane system is good apart from the over heating head unit< which is another subject!

Basically i have replaced my head unit with a kenwood monitor unit. it pumps out a satisfying 4x52w and is more that enough for what i want. However, the standard Megane speaker set up is not even close to being able to handle this type of output. i have replaced the front 13" speakers with a little effort and patience, this has given me a minor increase in sound quality. My next move will probably be to replace the tweeters, however they confuse me to the splitting point and then from there a small sub and if i can get to the rears, which i think is impossible, replace them too.

What i am asking is, is there anyone out there that has the same passion about sound quality as me and can offer any advise or suggestions to my ideas to make them better? i feel that maybe a pair of 6x9 speakers will give me more of what i want, but where do u fit them in a convertable is my question? lol.

Hope to hear from anyone that can help

hi there, i also have the cc on 57 plate with 5.1 surround sound setup like my BMW m5 logic 7, there will be big difference by changing rear speaker of the car it took me 3 hours to do it.

in order to change your rear speakers follow the following instruction:

release the back rest.
1. to remove the back rest
remove the screws that are located under the trim on the back shelf, with roof off the shelf is easily accsesable the shelf i mean is the one that the rear head rests are fitted to. on each end theres 2 side peices that clip of with a simple wiggle and lifting motion, under each of theose are a screw that once removed allow you to lift the seat upwards until the lower bracket comes away from the back plate of the seat.
very simple to remove and refit.
2. to remove the lower seat pad.
A bit more tricky but with a large flat head screwdriver or something simular its out in seconds
feeling underneath seat pad with fingers you will feel 3 clips push the flat end of screwdriver while gently pulling seat up the bracket is held in by a one way clip so holding the clip in will allow the bracket to be removed.
by removing the seats you can also get to the last screws to remove the complete side panel for rear elec windows etc speakers etc
under the seat pad is the acses point to fuel tank filler gage.
fitting amps etc is made easier when seats are out
and car seats that need to be strapped around seats
however im sure that renault must have there own child car seats as there are 2 fixing points located inbetween the back rest and seat pad of rear seats and a further one thats located in boot accesable by lifting the tab located un the middle of head restraints making fitting quick and simple
