Hello from the UK

Postby Busy_Man » Mon Jun 16, 2008 9:54 am

Hi Guys and Girls,

Well this Friday I am picking up my new car, it's an 04 Megane Sports Tourer, 1.6 Dynamique. Must say I am impressed with the equipment on the car, the previous owner must have been bored when handed the options list. It seems to have every toy you could want, climate, auto lights, auto wipers, keyless entry and start, 17" alloys, rear park assist, boot liner etc.

I'm trading in my current car, a vauxhall zafira 1.8 auto - this was the biggest mistake I made buying this car. 2 weeks after purchase the government changed the tax system so this would have cost £300 per year, with rumor saying upto £400 for tax year 09/10.

I've been reading through the various forums here for the last week or so, and think I have picked a nice example to buy :D just can't wait to pick it up and start enjoying driving again.

Will no doubt be on here again next week, asking stupid questions as i get used to driving a french car again.

Rob

Hello and welcome Busy_Man :tu congrats on the purchase, I'm afraid that you can't rely on this government to keep anything stable least of all the amount of persecution that they put us motorists through.

Thanks for the welcomes. Just had a call from the garage where I'll be getting the car from, they've spotted that all 4 tires need to be replaced, and two of the alloys have hair line cracks. :-(

Means I have to wait till Monday night to pick her up, but she'll have new rubber all round and 2 sparkly new alloys as well! At £105.00 per corner for the tires I'm not complaining as this is all being done for free!! :D :D
