2008 Megane - New member saying hello!

Postby Peter C » Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:38 pm

Hi guys,

My name is Peter and I've just picked up my new Megane. It's a 1.4 Expression Sportshatch version.

Here's some pics:

It's not the fastest model but it's more than adequate for my needs. I love the colour although it could do with bigger wheels!

Looking good mate, there are some nice touches on the newer models, I spotted one the other day same colour as yours, the chrome on the front grill looks rather nice too. Ive had mine since 04 and hope you have as much fun as i have had with mine.

Thanks guys!

This apparently is the last update / facelift for the Megane II before the III is launched towards the end of 2008. The side mouldings are different to earlier cars and they are colour coded, as are the door handles. There is a chrome (plastic!) slat within the grille and the wheels are new. Spec is adequate (A/C & CD as standard). I've had it for a couple of weeks now and aside from having to go back to the dealer within 24 hours of getting it (to fix a loose heat shield over the rear exhaust box), the car is a joy to drive. That said, I'm certain that I can hear a whine from the gearbox when driving in 5th gear @ 50MPH :(

Mine used to whine a bit in fifth. But French whine is better than British whine

I no longer have a Megane. I am waiting for the new model at the end of this year.
