How do!

Postby Peter » Thu Sep 13, 2007 5:58 pm

New to this so bare with me. Had a megane 225 for 2 weeks now, don't know anyone who has or has had this mighty fine car. So what better place to 'chat' to like minded motorists than right here.... so how do? :D

Thanks for the welcome fella's and cheers forn the heads up on the renualt performance site Stevie!
As i said had the car two weeks, bought a year old with 12000 on the clock. Had been a Renault staff car (possibly a lass with the long hairs i've been finding, call that a professional valet!). After 3 days i got a flashing light, toxic fume warning light i later found out. It was due to this i found this forum and realised i was not alone. Anyway the cars warranty lasts for another two years. Popped it to the dealer, could'nt find a problem. Drove home, flashed agian. Upshot being misfire cylinder 3(bored yet?) swapped injectors round?? new spark plug and so far all seems ok!

Tell me though is the engine supposed to feel like it's hunting a bit at the lights? rev needle is steady but you can feel it through the chasis. Maybe it's due to the level of tuning in getting 225hp from the 2.0??

Looking at some of the problems on the forum folks have ever right to think count your blessings. But don't we just love the flawed beauties?

Welcome to the club Peter.

Usually it's a duff coil that causes problems like that?
Make improvements, not excuses!

Thanks for the heads up IainMW, should have posted the problem on the problem and solutions section along with the squeeky steering!! These are the only things i wanted to check out mate, don't want people thinking i'm a whinging bugger cos the car is fantastic. Refined enough for the wife to drive and ballistic enough above 4000rpm for any speed junky!! :D

Cheers, wish I could take the credit but it came from a lass on another site, to display it was the least I could do.
