Hi all,

I'm a proud owner of a 2005 55 Megane Sport Tourer 1.5 dCi 86Bhp Euro 4, joining these pages to sing the praises of these fantastic cars, glean the knowledge and expertise of all you like minded people and share my experiences which I hope may help somebody in some way.

Why the megane? For me my megane is admittedly a bit of a workhorse. I commute 50 miles per day, I have a young family and I want cost effective transport that suits my budget. I cannot think of a more suitable car - largest boot in it's class, average 65mpg when driven conservatively and cheap tax and insurance, given it's paltry 120g co2/km and insurance grp 4 rating. Plus it has 5* safety rating into the bargain!

So unlike many of the rest of you I don't spend hours polishing my beloved motor, but I maintain it with the best oil, tyres, servicing, diesel etc and take much pleasure from only filling up once every 850 miles when those in their VW Touraegs etc struggle to get 1/2 that with no improvement in safety and significantly higher costs of motoring and to the environment.

On the dealer pages I have put in a recommendation about a repair shop I've used in Aylesbury, Bucks - hope this is of benefit to somebody.

Welcome to the club Richard. I to have a 1.5dci 86 and I love it to bits.

As you have already stated, good MPG, £35 for 12mths tax and low insurance.
