Morning All
My name is Piers and i have just got myself an 06 megane 1.9 dci estate. I got it at a reasonable price and this is due to it intermittently reporting an injection fault. when it shows it the car doesn’t drive any differently that I can notice and once I have stopped and restarted it goes away so I’m thinking it’s a faulty censor rather than anything else, are there any checks i can do myself to figure out the fault?
It has now don’t just over 102k so still plenty of life left in her and the cam belt was done around 68k so still got a bit more to go until that change, could probably do with a decent service soon, is there anything else I should think about getting done or looking in to for further piece of mind?
Thanks in advance for any help
Piers

Re: New Owner in need of advice...
Hi, I'm also a new owner and the day adter buying mine I had the same thing but like you still drives fine. I took mine for a good run down the motorway with a couple of good blasts and its gone away now so far.
From what I've seen it can be many different things which cause this from blocked egr valve, fuel filter, glow plugs or worst case scenario the fuel pump corrodes and blocks the injectors but if your cars running fine I very much doubt it will be that. Take it for a run down the motorway and on heavy acceleration see if there's any smoke coming out. Start with the cheapest things first and I'd recommend putting some fuel cleaner in with some bp ultimate diesel and just see how things go. Keep us updated
