Good evening people, apologies for not posting in a while, we have been extremely busy down the warehouse with a few vehicle details and lots of admin work on the site
This particular detail though we really enjoyed doing so we thought we would share it with you: -
It was an Electric Orange Focus ST which had been booked in through Purity for a ‘Finer Detail’ inc Full Paint Correction. The owner was actually selling the vehicle and wanted it to look as good as possibly so it could give it its maximum selling potential.
Here are some of when it arrived all dirty: -
So first thing to do was a good wash, starting with a full jet wash over to remove most the loose grim, followed by a hand wash using a 2 Bucket Method.
Products Used: -
2x Poorboys Wash Buckets, Clear and Black
1x Lambs Wool Wash Mitt
1x Chemical Guys Extreme Body Wash n Wax
1x Chemical Guys Miracle Drying Towel
Next on the list was the Engine, This is the trick with any cars sales we find, if people see the heart of the vehicle is spic and span then they automatically presume it is a mechanical sound well looked after engine.
Here we Used : -
1x Detailing Brush
1x Maxolen Engine Cleaner
And to dress afterwards: - Maxolen Blue Star A-Z, fantastic we find for engine bays!!
Now ready for a little bit of Headlight Re-sanding. They where really badly stone chipped and we thought it would just be letting the rest of the finish down if all the rest of the car was near perfect and then the headlights been left in such a sorry state. Starting with masking off the area, and then proceeding with some 1500grit sandpaper, followed up by 3000grit to remove the scratches left in by the 1500grade. To then refine the haziness we used some Menzerna Super Intensive Polish, applied with the Makita Rotary Polisher and a Chemical Guys Green Hex Logic Pad, the 4” were perfect for the job.
Now it was time for the Full Paint Correction itself. After a full decontamination using our Chemical Guys Clay Bar and Meguiars Quick Detailer to provide adequate lubrication, we could then begin to tape up all the rubbers using 3m masking tape.
Starting with the bonnet and then moving on all around the car in a clockwise direction. Products used: -
1x Makita Rotary Buffer
1x Chemical Guys Hex Logic Green Pad
1x Poorboys SSR2.5
Over all the full correction took around 3 full working days to complete so around 23 hours in total. After all that hard work we felt it was only right to apply the Crazy coloured ‘Dodo Juice Orange Crush Soft Wax’. There was then another whole 8 hours just on waxing the car alone, totalling 4 full coats of wax. We always tend to find that after 3 it offers more than enough protection for 3 months.
Hope you all like!!

To book a treatment like this you would first have to book the package which is between £150 and £250, and then the paint correction is on top which we usual base on around £20 an hour. But some times they do run on for a while, and every single car is different, in terms of size, shape and the the lacquers some times make it very very difficult, dependent on manufacture of the Vehicle.
This ST was £425 all in and the owner was more than happy with that price considering the result when finished, the car actually sold last week for well above book value, which just goes to show that it really does help when cars have been done correctly they are more than worth the money paid for the Detail itself !!
