Hi - just bought my very first car as incentive to pass my driving test ( taking lessons just now )

Bought a 2006 1.6 Dymanique Megane - absolutely love it - drove it home from the garage today (with a friend as am on L plates) and must admit was so pleased with it once i got to grips with the handbrake - took us 10 mins lol to figure out the proper way to get it to move!!

only quibble but its a learning thing was the high beams - found it difficult once i had them on to turn off but figured it out after getting a few annoyed flashes from other cars! Having a good read of the handbook tomorrow so should fare better

Hello and welcome!

Hope you have some trouble free motoring. How much is the insurance out of interest??

Best i got was £416 from Liverpool Direct for Fully Comp - didnt think it was too bad as i insured it on a provisional licence but had my partner as a named driver

Yeah thought it was good just waiting on the documents. Had a good read of the hand book today but can't see how to turn both the front and rear fog lights on at the same time. The stalk only letsme select front or rear not both? Any ideas or am I being dense lol

yeah bizarrely it was Liverpool Victoria and RAC that were only a few pounds different then it went up several hundred - craziest quote i got was £2000!!!

it probably helps having my partner whos been driving for ages on it plus i'm 37 so maybe a bit easier because of my age. Still not knocking it - i think the premium goes down another £20-£30 once i get my licence.

Mines £1,200. Was kind of hoping that after two years of driving it would come down :(
