Hellooooooo

Postby jm85 » Wed Jan 20, 2010 10:36 am

Hi All,

Ive just brought a 52 2003 Megane 1.9 DCI dynamique 3 door, its got 60,000 on the clock and it looks amazing, not a mark on it. It drives nice, feels nice and even smells nice :)

Im a little concerned though, all im reading on the net is that the 02 / 03 models have electrical problems as a feature almost? Water ingress on the fuse boxes etc?

Should I be concerned or look for / to change anything?

Anyway, Helloooooo!

Regards

Joe

Hello again. Another note, just check that the door and floor pockets are dry, water gets in if the door speaker is not sealed properly.

Ive had mine bang on two years this month. Not had any problems with mine *touches wood* Ive just spent alot on maintenance really, last year i serviced it with 0w40 Mobil One oil, cam belt and alternator belt changed, brake fluid changed, anti freeze changed, and new battery. Hopefully doing all that i should have a trouble free year.
As for mileage ive only done 13000 miles in it as it only gets used at weekends to get to my girlfriends 50 miles away. Im lucky that i only have a 5 minute walk to work :grin

Hi!

Yes I was also worried when I bought my 03 Mégane only to hear that the early models got all the problems!

I've had mine 11 months.. it had 58,000 miles when I bought it and just hit 71,000 today - I LOVE IT

Problems: Drivers electric window stopped working (happens to every Mégane at some point), boot catch needed replaced (only £20) and at the minute I have a really annoying problem where a circuit just keeps tripping. One tail light, one sidelight and both registration light bulbs are concerned, and the fuse just keeps blowing. It's been in with an auto electrician twice who can't find the fault and is worried that it may be the fuse box :?

Ah well, nothing major has gone wrong, nothing really expensive...and hey, every car has it's problems.

I love my Mégane :D
