Hey guys and gals, nice to meet everyone. My name is Dan. I live in Panama, which is in central america for those who don't know. I own a 2007 Megane HB Phase II. No mod's done to it, except a stereo system: Pioneer DEH-7950IB headunit, stock front and rear speakers, added 300w oval speakers to the panel that goes above the boot. Looking into an HID conversion. And I don't know what else. I know my car isn't made to be fast so I'm not going to bother in that area. As for some history, I've had a couple of problems with my car, like window motors and switches failing, a belt pulley breaking, and the horn once just wouldn't honk. Since the car is under warranty still, I've had those fixed. But the window switch/motor problem still persists every now and again. There's also a strange noise comming from the steering wheel when turned it emits a chirping sound. I've reported it to my dealer, I don't know if it's happened to any of you guys. And well thats about it I guess that's my car.

Welcome to the forum.
The chirping noise from the steering wheel could be the rotary switch which is a known problem. Use the search facility on this site to find more information about the fault.

Hi Dan - welcome to the MOC!

I am in total agreement with Jonault about your chirping noise - it will be the airbag rotary switch behind the steering wheel. As he says there are loads of posts on here about it, I myself am in the process of getting mine done on my DCi, already had one replaced on the 1.4 petrol (under warranty).
