Hi there to all Megae Owners. I would like to thank those responsible for maintaining the site, the moderators and the contributors as well. It's not fair to say that I registered myself because of despair since I'm facing a quite big problem with my car at the moment, but I hope I'll be able to find a solution or at least a piece of advice.

I have a Renault Megane II Berline, year 04, 1.4 16 valve petrol engine, which I bought from a friend 2 years back. It's a fantastic car to drive, I feel very secure in it. I recently did the timing belt replacement for the 120K driving distance, although I'm still on 180K. I must say that car maintenance is quite high at the Renault dealer, and recently I've been trying to do the servicing through a mechanic.

My main issue remains the fuel consumption which is 13/100 at the moment, and this is not acceptable because the car should be doing 6 to 9 as per documentation.
