Re: Parking lights

Parking lights are normally just side lights. If you want your dipped headlights to come on, repeat the above procedure but turn the stalk two clicks. Auto lights shouldn't make a difference.

Re: Still having problems!!! 04 1.416v

I had this problem (and uploaded youtube video). Renault replaced my coolant temp sensor. Everything worked for a year and then same problem recurred. Hesitancy because car was running cold settings etc. No problem found. So, I removed wiring connector to collant sensor and found lots of green corro...

Re:

Short journeys mean Petrol engines don't warm up sufficienty hence they always run rich and use more fuel. I was referring to this statement that you made. Petrol engines reach normal operating temperature (and inherently, efficiency) more quickly than diesel engines (their overall thermal efficien...

Re: 1.4 engine - enough?

For most situations, it is plenty. As said above, there is a noticeable surge from just under 4000 rpm, so overtaking is not that dicey if you're sensible. However, I largely drive my car alone but when it is full of people, you certainly are more aware that it is a small-engined car.

Re: mpg

Depends how short the journey is. Diesels take far longer to reach normal operating temperature.

Re: Running Cold, Temperature Gauge or Something else

I had this problem before - temperature guage dropping off and then returning to normal at random. Garage replaced coolant temperature sensor once and it seemed to solve the problem. However, almost a year later and the same thing started to happen again! Went into dealers twice but no faults showed...

You may have to clear the error code from the ECU. Try disconecting the battery for 30-40 mins, reconnect and see if the message still appears.

My local tyre fitters have no problems whatsoever with the tyre sensors. They take a much more softly, softly approach to removing the tyr to ensure that they don't damage the sensors. However, they do have a disclaimer on prominent display that they will take no responsibility for any damage - i.e....

Tis an awful feeling when you come across an object in the road with no time or space to avoid it.

There is no choke on modern cars! The ECU changes fueling and airmix constantly to suit the conditions. I had similar problems - once apparently down to a faulty TDC sensor and the other time attributed to a faulty coolant temperature sensor - see video here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=08JaSGsrFM...
