Re: Grandtour II tail light problem
By soldering the wires direct to the bulb holder you should have eliminated the possibility of a bad connection. You could try putting a new earth wire from the bulb holder to the body of the car, this would rule out a poor earth return. Believe it or not a lot of rear light problems occur because p...

Re: No power until 2200 revs
Check the EGR valve isn't sticking open, you will have to remove it and give it a clean.

Re: Megane 1.5Dci - Engine noise
That's a tough one for anyone to comment on without hearing the noise.
Is it possible for you to make a decent video of the engine noise and post it up?
Put the video on youtube and post the link up.

Re: Passenger front grinding
... I was not aware they were more than one size ball joint...not one motor factor i have been on phone to including Renault have mentioned that... I've just looked up the ball joint for my 2008 car and FAI automotive list two ball joint sizes, a 16mm or 18mm pin. It's sometimes very difficult to p...

Re: Passenger front grinding
Recheck your work and make sure all nuts / bolts are tight. I think I'm correct is saying that there are two sizes of ball joint, a 16mm & 18mm, did you check you had the correct one on the new arm? It's possible to fit the smaller size by mistake, this will cause a banging noise and is dangerou...

Re: Poor Cold Starting.
The working voltage of the glow plug is normally written on it, 11v is written on the one I have here.
Yeah, let us know how you get on.

Re: Poor Cold Starting.
No point in doing that until you establish which plugs you need (7 or 12 volt) hence taking a voltage reading at the plug cap.
If you fit the 7v plugs and your system is 12v they won't last long.

Re: Poor Cold Starting.
I read it as he had 12 volt plugs fitted and they should have been the 7 volt plugs because that's what his software needed. I'm guessing the plugs you have are 12 volt (they are normally marked as 11 volts). Despite what I said earlier about the test lamp I would check with a volt meter what voltag...

How did the window switch go, what type of bulb?

Re: Megane II cranking short and not starting
When the car does not start does it turn over slowly? Even though the battery is showing a decent voltage when you check it I think it will probably be dipping down quite a bit when you are trying to start the car. Is the battery the correct one for the car in regards to CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) I t...
