Re: Automatic gear stick hissing

Hello there........did you have the correct tool to wind back the caliper pistons?...you say you opened the bleed caps to make it easy to push back the pistons..as these calipers include the handbrake mechanism ( and its automatic adjustment) the pistons need to be wound clockwise and pushed back at...

Re: Starting issue

At 200,000 miles you might have mechanical issues preventing the engine from starting. Check heater coils. The EGR valve could be so fouled with soot etc that it might even be jammed open. Check valve clearances and compression. Check the fuel and air filters.

Re: Cause of Misfire?

Hello there......Normally ignition coils are ground( earth) switched by the ecu....the ecu provides an earth pulse to trigger the ignition coil. If the coil has two wires feeding to it then you need to identify which one gets the earth pulse from the ecu.Turn on the ignition....disconnect both wires...

Re: Cause of Misfire?

If you could get a small cannister of propane fitted with a long pipe nozzle with an on/off valve...then when the engine is misfiring try to inject a small quantity of the propane into to the inlet air stream ( by teeing into the vacuum pipe )..then if the misfiring stops then that tells you its a f...

Re: "Check Injection" and Service light on when I hit 3200rpm.

Hello there I think a MAP sensor is fitted in a petrol engine only and is usually fitted between the trottle flap and the cylinder head. Because the diesel engine is not trottled the equivalent sensor is called a MAF sensor or AMM sensor or MAM sensor. In my engine this sensor is fitted between the ...

Re: Heater blower only works on 4

hello there.... first check the heater resistors and thermal fuse for continuity. I think the values on my one were 500, 1000 and 1500 ohms. The thermal fuse has hardly any resistance.. almost 0 ohms. After that its time to check the speed switch. On the full speed the resistor/thermal fuse pack is ...

Re: O2 sensor Heater Element Nightmare

Hello there I assume you checked the original O2 sensor for heater continuity. The power feed for these heaters can be different. It can be a direct B+ ( via a fuse over a relay contact) feed and then the other end is earth pulsed under control of the ecu. It can be a full earth and then the other e...

Re: Megane 2, 2005 1.5 diesel not starting

Hello there... Looking at the Haynes Manual it shows a clutch pedal switch consisting of two wires. If you could check the continuity of this switch with a multimeter and when pressing the clutch pedal you should see continuity on the ohms scale. The start/stop button also has a micro switch and it ...
