Re: Megan 2 cc A pillar external panel damaged
Hi rdp1612, Thank you for sharing your experience, absolutely correct on your last point re risk to other road users. I'll continue to look for a replacement but apart from it looking a bit unsightly, running without the ally panel is no issue for now. I've repaired the one that let go, cleaned away...

Megan 2 cc A pillar external panel damaged
Whilst driving the ally panel separated from its plastic attachment frame with a real bang (sounded like a gun shot), it had bent right back up to where the torx fixing held it at the top of the A Pillar. Basically it seems the glue that holds it on the plastic frame had let go. I'm looking for a re...

Re: Renault Megane convertible coupe 2005.
Is the whole gear knob worn or just the top gear map insert. If the latter you can just carefully prize it out and replace cheaply with new insert, many sold on ebay.

Re: Meg II CC Ownership Costs
Hi ChrisM, Thanks for the insight into the MkIII, really very good indeed and I'm sure helpful to anyone considering the change. Strange how Renault have changed the final drive to give higher revs in top gear. Could it be to ensure the DPF is purged, perhaps someone out there knows? Having said tha...

Mk2 Exterior door handle removal
Hi all, Have found information on how to remove exterior door handle (passenger door for me on my Mk2 CC) by removing a grommet from the door, inserting a hook around a latch, then pull to release the handle from the door. What I haven't found is anything on reinstating the handle. It might be clear...

Thanks ChrisM
Very helpful tips. No better way to learn than from those who have been there and done it.
Cheers
Be very interesting to hear how you feel your Mk3 compares with the Mk2.

Re: Front Wing
Hi, how did you get on replacing your front wing as I'm still of the belief that CC wings are unique? ChrisM thought that all Megane II front ends were the same for a given year of vehicle. If you did manage to fit a non CC wing I'd be interested to know. Thanks

Re: Tips for disconnecting battery
Hi, Sorry I can't offer a specific answer but we recently went to the continent for 6 weeks and my 2004 Megane II CC 1.6 (manual transmission) battery was flat when we returned. I hadn't disconnected it while we were away but removed it from the car to charge it. Wouldn't accept charge so new batter...

Meg II CC Ownership Costs
Hi everyone, Not new to the forum (fantastic knowledge base and helpful members) as joined formally in 2015 when I purchased my March 2004 1.6 petrol CC. Thought I'd offer an overview of my ownership experience. Purchase pros: >One family (non smokers) owned car from new, mother then daughter. >HPI ...

Forgot to mention you were exactly right when you said discs would be shot after 3yrs. Corroded to hell.

Re: Rear wheel bearing noise Mk II CC
Guys, I've replaced the rear discs and all is quiet again. I inspected the old items once removed and can't see, feel or hear anything to suggest they are worn but droning has disappeared so they must be. I went the cheaper route again as I found a pair of 'Unipart' branded disc assemblies from an e...

Re: Rear wheel bearing noise Mk II CC
jo12: Thanks very much for the advice which sounds like it comes from experience. scooper1000: Thanks and agree nothing to loose by checking. I'll check the fronts but am pretty sure the drone is just as what forced me to replace them last time. I've read elsewhere on the forum of another who suffer...

Re: Key cards
You have had some bad luck, May I suggest you describe a little more about the specifics of your starting issue i.e. Was engine running fine, did the starting issue develop over time, what makes you think its an electrical issue requiring an expensive part? As for the key card, I can't tell you how ...

Rear wheel bearing noise Mk II CC
Hi, Replaced my rear discs / brngs 3yrs ago and sounds like I have brng noise again. Jacked back end up but all seems ok, can't feel any play, wheels spin fine with no noise plus checked wheels after long drive and no excessive heat detectable. The droning I hear from the back to me sounds like a be...

Re: Front Wing
Hi, My 2004 NSF wing has a small crack so I keep a look out for a replacement the right price and colour. I'm pretty sure the cc wings are unique so hatchback items won't fit. I recently put a breaker yard enquiry out for a rear window regulator for my cc and you'd be surprised how many responses I ...
