Re: Air Conned

Well i've heard from the dealers and all they have done is Re-gas the system and all is working again, no sign of leaks. It leads me to think that Kwik fit aren't fit to touch almost any car on the road. More likely they emptied what refrigerant was left in the system and didn't know how to refill i...

Re: Wind Deflectors

I personally don't have a problem in the front seats with no wind deflector behind them. Its when I have passengers in the back with the roof down that the problems start. They get blown to buggery in the back. I've sat there myself with the girlfriend driving and its very draughty even at 40 mph. S...

Re: Average MPG

Thats the only problem, the road tax. Think its £210 a year now. :eek.
But it has a nice sound especially with the roof down. None of the Agricultural clackety clack of a diesel is worth the extra cost.

Don't read to much into that last statement, i'm just trying to justify owning a 2.0 petrol :D

Re: Buying a CC

Its no sports car. I owned an MGF a few years ago and the Megane is not nearly as fun to drive. More of a good cruiser than anything else. Handles well and as you've probably read it does suffer from some scuttle with the roof down, but not to the point of annoyance. With the roof up I saw no differ...

Re: Average MPG

I'm getting on average 38 Mpg.
The other day I reset it and came back home through some nice twisting A roads and averaged 44 Mpg and mines a 2.0 Petrol!
I put it down to not having to work it too hard to get it going unlike a smaller Asthmatic engine.

Re: Buying a CC

Well i've not had problems with mine up until the Air con played up the other day. The roof doesn't leak and has never shown any signs of water ingress. Still operates ok too and not failed once. Trim still looks new, although i've been very careful not to mark it. I can say that I had reservations ...

Re: Air Conned

Thanks for all the replies, Its now booked into Renault Cannock for a full check on Tuesday. Not a bad Stealership there, so fingers crossed and will update on here next week when I find out what exactly is the problem. Someone else has said that if the pressure was low and because its Climate contr...

Air Conned

Ah well. A whole year of relatively trouble free motoring with this Megane has finally come to an end with the promise of a future large handover of cash. Took it to Kwik fit yesterday to get the air con topped up due to lack of cold air. Came to pick it up an hour later and the monkey told me that ...

Used car values on the up

Well, I got my Megane back after its service and was very surprised to find out how much its worth on trade in. Most of you have probably heard how used car prices have gone up because of a shortage, as the only cars being traded in are old knackers for the scrappage scheme. This is leaving very lit...

Re: Noisy rear brakes

Squeaky rear brakes seem to be the norm with em. My old 53 plate Megane II did it. So does the current one although not as often or as loud.

Re: Opening roof while doing 20mph

Tried to drop mine whilst moving and anything over walking pace stops the process with a loud beep and the dashboard telling you to refer to the manual. Stop the car and it happily continues to stow it away.

New Megane Coupe

My Megane CC is in for a service today and have been kindly given the new Megane Coupe for the day to try. I'm impressed so far, its only a 1.6, but with six gears it cruises along nicely at motorway speeds and handles extremely well. The car doesn't roll around corners and is very well planted to t...

Interior door handle finish

Any else had the finish coming off on the interior door handles. My CC has cream leather seats and hence the door handles have the same colour finish to them. Thing is, they are sprayed that colour and recently it had the passenger door handle changed under warranty and now the drivers door handle i...
