Leave the battery off for an hour

Get one of those gauges that plug into the cigarette light socket. With the engine off it should read around 12v, with the engine running it should be around 13-16v. If ts not then your alternator may need looking at.

Don't forget that you will get lower mpg in winter cos of the diesel mix

It could be the air-con gas pressure sensor at fault, quite a common problem

What kind of driving do you mainly do?

If it has a sunroof then that may well do a similar thing, in which case hold down the sunroof button

Certainly sounds a bit dodgy. You can get CD lens cleaners, try and get one with a CD that has brushes on it. I don't think it will help though

Theoretically all you have to do is extend the ISO connectors from the enclosure in the boot, back behind the dashboard. Not as difficult as it may seem as there is plenty of space within the sill trims to do this
