Re: mass air flow sensor

its not rubbish, tiny particles of oil will separate from the filter and get on the MAF. and yes there is oil on the k&n filters, they work only when oily. and when you clean it you have to re-oil it. leaving the maf unconnected will cause higher fuel consumption, lower power, as the ecu will wo...

Re: 1.9 dci massive hesitation at 3000rpm

you need a proper diagnostics tool, not cheap adapters. dont waste your time or money.
dont believe the sellers.

get to some garage that does know how to use a diag tool and take the car for a run,
plut values like :
Maf,
Map,
injection quantity
rpm

Re: 1.9 dci massive hesitation at 3000rpm

The cheap maf is not worth the money!! They either come broken or they read slightlly of. The correct maf to buy is VDO and the cheapest one i found on ebay was 75€ You can check if the maf isnthe actuall problem in two way. 1- disconect the maf, if the car goes fine though the whole rew range then ...

Re: Add oil to diesel for better mpg

those oils burn clean and dont smoke (if in correct ratio) and will lubricate all of the fuel system that is running dry compared to when the engine was designed (at that point the fuel was much greasier , now they are pretty much dry)

Re: Add oil to diesel for better mpg

stroke oil will make the car run smother also. those oils are very fine so no worry about clogging up a filter

Re: 1.6 16v modding

if you want to take out the whole airbox then you need to lift the battery, and the battery pan together with the ecu, and than it is a tight job for removing them

Re: 1.6 16v modding

would be much cheaper to buy a used 225 engine and run it in there. as for the price of forging + turboing an 1.6L engine which would max out at 250hp max max, would get you a 225 engine and you would still be left with a money for further upgrades which would be much much more reliable.

Re: cambelt 1.9 DCI 2005

not quite a diy as there are no markings on the cams and you have to lock the flywheel inside the engine and time it etc. not simple at all on the 1.9 dci, and the method of symply locking all the cams to the current position is not really a god job

Re: Engine modification!

it is not worth it, by the time you get all the parts you need to tune that engine to be a performer you would put a good 3ooo€ in it, for that money Im sure you can import an complete engine etc, it is really not worth the hassle. if you would have a 2.0 16V it would be a tad cheaper

Re: Megane 225 Climate Control upgrade

you need the whole controll unit , front dash, fans, blower, UCH etc off a car with an auto AC, it is not worth the hassle as you have to take apart the whole interior, get in a new wiring etc
