Re: timing belt
It would help if you mentioned which model you have. I have a 1.9dci and it's pretty easy to see the belt. You can see the edges without removing anything but undoing a couple of bolts near the drivers side top engine mount shows more. My belt was changed 71k and 6 years ago. Was holding off to see ...

Re: oil leak
I would suggest making sure all the breather pipes are clear, particularly the small one leading from the bottom of the filler bottle back into the engine. Also check the pressure control valve (halfway between pipe leading from oil filler to turbo) to make sure it is not gunged up. My 1.9dci (2004,...

Re: Megane Clutch flat on floor
This happened to a mates Volvo but it was the slave cylinder which leaked. Is there any fluid leaking from around the gearbox?

Re: 1.9dci air intake
I believe it's used to stop the car, by cutting off the air supply.
Mine leaks oil but the oil actually gets into the air intake from (in my case) leaking turbo seals. The valve is merely the easiest route for the oil to take.

Re: 1.9 dci egr blank
Good stuff! Did it trigger an ODB warning light? Mine had the light on with an EGR valve fault before I turned it 180 so I don't know if it would have triggered one.
Just put my EGR back to normal as I have a MOT Fri and not sure if they would be happy with it.

Re: 1.9 dci egr blank
Bit of pain to get the valve out if not been cleaned for a while. Big screwdriver and gentle taps clockwise, anti-clockwise until you can get something between the engine and valve. Screwdriver is risky; can scratch the surface and possibly damage the gasket.

Re: 1.9 dci egr blank
Another option is to split the EGR valve - there's an electrical part outside the engine and the mechanical part which sits inside. Refit the mechanical part and then turn roughly 180 degrees which effectively blanks it off. Bolt the electrical section on as normal as reconnect the electric block. I...

Re: Fitting a battery cover
They are 10mm bolts with a thin metal clip into which they screw. Imagine a thin V shaped piece of thin metal about 15mm square with the gaps between the arms of the 'V' being pretty small. There is a hole in the middle for the bolt. I've only one left, the other fell off years ago and was replaced ...

Re: Computer display comes and goes.
I have similar with my 1.9dci. If the car has been sitting in the sun the computer can disappear completely or partially. Even shows French words occasionally (I am not joking). One the car has cooled it always returns to normal so I'm not going to chance trying to fix it.

Any warning lights? Have you tried an OBDC connector to read any error codes? What's the car's mileage and service history? Any parts changed recently?

Re: Engine overheating
Best start with what model it is, mileage etc. Hoe do you know it's overheating? Is it losing water? If petrol does the oil cap have mayo like gunge on the inside (head gasket fail)? Could get a Bluetooth ODBD connector and appropriate app (Torque Pro) which shows exact eng temp. Of course only help...
