Re: Aircon leaks
Not had a leak, but my Megane needed a couple of top ups because I wasn't using it enough. The dealer told me to use it for minimum 10 mins a week, every week, which I've done since, and for the first time, it's still working. So get it topped up and use the aircon every week. When I descend a steep...

Re: recording phone calls
I think that you have to state that you are recording the call.

Re: is my car a 2 or 3?
just registered with renault.co.uk and it came up that it is a renault 2. been looking at stuff on ebay, where i get all or most my car stuff from, and the years people state for things is confusing as my car wasnt registered until dec 2002, as a 52 reg, but i see stuff for 99-02, then 02-07 or 09....

Re: Buying help?
In 2006 came the facelift (so some 2006 models will be pre, the majority are post). In 2007 (not sure on a date) they removed some standard kit (perhaps not from the Priv spec).

There are some threads around from a while back, probably in "mods".

It might be that the discs are warped.

Re: Roof bars for '06 Tourer
I hadn't realised that bars inbetween the rails existed! I just have some Thule aero ones (brushed chrome to match the car) that sit on top. It's rare that I use them (once or twice a year) now I have the tourer, but I can see the appeal of even better bars for a regular user.

Re: what tyre size???? please help
The 225's will be wider, which is good for increased dry grip, and worse in wet. See https://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg3.html

Re: sidelight
I did mine a week ago (passenger side sidelight bulb). I tried through the wheel arch but it was too far to reach!
I ended up opening the bonnet, removing a pipe that blocked the way and reaching the light.

Re: megane 1.5dci owners help please.
Financially there are many factors that would determine which is the cheapest to own and run. The diesel will be more efficient, but the fuel costs a little more per litre than petrol (it does vary, but in the last few years that's been the general trend). A diesel engined car is also more expensive...

Re: My new car NON RENAULT
I like Italian cars, and the Panda is about the best practical city car you can get (Miles ahead of 107/C1/Agro etc). They don't quite work looks wise for me, but I'd take one as a courtesy car over a Clio any day (I haven't driven a Twingo).

Re: A truly bad car Megan 1.6 estate
There are a few valid points that I'd agree with. The seats aren't as comfortable as some others I've had (ever had a Vauxhall though - they're worse), and compared to a Golf I borrowed last year the ride over bumps isn't as good (although a lot of that might be down to tyres - my current Goodyear E...

Re: Bulb Replacement
You want H7 for the dipped beams. I tend to get Osram's off ebay as they're decent quality for reasonable price (compared to Halfrauds). Do be aware that it's not simple to change the bulbs, but it can be done - read your manual and the numerous threads on this forum before starting!

Re: Headlight beam
The beam does raise on the nearside, so it's not flat.
