Re: Renault Megane II stalling at junctions/traffic lights

Have you fixed and ruled out the brake switch yet? In most cars you can't accelerate and brake at same time, even though some will say about left foot braking and heal and toe, they can safely be ignored because they're bonkers :D

Spare key card

Having had an incident where my card fell out of my pocket and landed barely two inches away from a drain  I've been maybe thinking how easy (or not) it would be to get a spare. I've looked on ebay but most seem to be just new cases without inners? This car isn't new but I've had a couple of ...

Re: Hot starts

What engine etc do you have? Can you hear the fuel pump come on before you start it? Reason I ask is I had similar problem to you with my last car, fuel pump sometimes wouldn't activate when engine was warm. Could never find out why, in the end I had to splice another cable to the fuel pump to plug ...

Re: running on engine oil?

Alex, I don't think he was ready for that situation and just panic a bit.

I did say after he could of tried stalling it, but being on a farm in a field it may of well took off... never to be seen again.. :D

Thanks for replies anyway :-)

running on engine oil?

I am posting this on behalf of a friend who's had some engine trouble. The turbo had stopped working so he had another fitted. The original had broken inside but all the pieces were there. After starting the car with the replacement on it was fine, until they revved it a little. The engine kept on r...

Re: Aircon clutch

Hi did you get it fixed?

My aircon hasn't worked since buying car last year, although the aircon button light comes on.

There is no slight jolt to engine revs when activating, all my other cars have done this, so I'm thinking the clutch is stuck or just not being activated.

Re: air in fuel

Where is the air in the fuel line? Changed the filter on mine a few weeks ago, had to go out mid job to get another filter (I picked a cheepie off ebay that said it would fit but didn't) and the pipes were full of air when I got back. But after priming and starting engine couple of times all air wen...

Re: Engine cutting out very briefly.

one of our work vans, a ford transit does this as well. Loses power up hill then you'll feel it suddenly come back to life. Then again with 1/4 million miles could just be its way of telling you that it needs a rest :D

Re: 2 x headlamp bulbs replaced in 15 minutes

Changed drivers side headlight today, didn't take as long as thought it would, I did the same as last time when changing sidelight bulb, from the top. If you move the screen washer filler out of the way, you get some access. Still has to be done by feel though as can't see anything. Also changed die...

Re: Bye bye megane

I think you're right Alex... could it be the supposedly better makes have just as many problems as any other, but are sorted out quickly and efficiently by dealers/garages that care more... I've read on this forum alone about megane owners repeatedly going back to have something small fixed, like a ...

Re: Bye bye megane

While I quite like my Megane Tourer for its cheapness to run, I would try another make next time. Prob German or Japanese.
For me, the Megane is below average out of the cars I've had (Ford, Vauxhall, Seat) so wouldn't have another.

Re: Clicking from wheel

All good now with no clicking, still don't know what is was though... Another question, when I changing wheels around there seems to be what looks like copper grease on the hub face and bolts. Is this ok? Thought this was only used on backs of brake pads etc to stop squeaking? Thank for all your input
