Re: Engines and endurance
I have also bought a Renault which I plan to keep for a few years (I had my last car for 9 years so this maybe possible again). Its a 1.5 dci 06 plate with 135kmiles at the moment ( already had it over a year), its good on fuel (average 60mpg) and is an estate which is handy. Iv'e been good and had ...

Car let me down first time
Spent a couple of minutes defrosting car this morning, then off to go, but door wouldn't latch shut :-( Spent a while getting the lock out of the door, had some ice around it (just a bit) , warmed it up a bit with a lighter and gave it a tap and was working again fine. This a common problem on these...

Russia?
Always wanted to drive though Russia for some reason  but having looked at this I'd doubt if I'd come back alive  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmsQ-obL1Z4 Are these guys for real? I take it you don't have to pass any form of test whatsoever to drive over there? I really like the fact...

Re: locked in my megane!
Can someone confirm this, being locked in in the event of power fail.
I thought the internal door release's were mechanical straight to the lock, and would function without power? Unless it's deadlocked ?

Re: oil grade
Alex thanks for the link. Is there any way I could mix what I have now with another grade to bring it closer to the grade needed? I'm thinking 0w40 with 15w40 would end up closer to what is required, or does it work that way? I just don't want to waste what I have now. I will of course use the prope...

oil grade
What's the worst that would happen if I put in 15w40 instead of 5w40 the manual recommends? I change oil twice yearly, should I buy the correct oil now to change now, then use the 15w40 next time ( eg in six months when most cold weather is gone).

Re: vibration
Hi Irkirk, did you find cleaning/replacing the sensors you mentioned help reduce vibration when on the overrun? My 215km 1.5 dci seems to be a bit boomy when lifting the gas off at speed when say approaching a red light, roundabout etc, so thinking of having a go to see if I can improve this.

Re: Standard radio issues
It turns itself off after 20 mins if you just get in the car and turn it on (without engine on). This is normal. Seems like yours doesn't know if the engines on or not. All cables at the back ok?

Re: Reseting service indicator
Thanks for your post, however this is where I'm slipping up, as there is no button on the speedo in my car... I've looked on youtube for this and they all seem to have them... I've got nothing, not even a hole where the button would be :D Could it maybe be reset like the other variables in the compu...

Also, can someone tell me the difference between phase 1 and 2? Mines an 06 reg estate. Are there any sites with photos that show clearly the difference?

Reseting service indicator
Hi, my info screen keeps coming up with the service indicator and spanner symbol. I do the servicing myself and need to know how to reset this. I have looked on net, youtube has some articles but they all seem to have an extra button in the dash between the speedo and rev dials somewhere which mine ...
