Re: Suspension Bearing

IIRC, Renault only supplies the bearing in a kit with the strut top mount that bolts to the body. This was the case at least in 2008 when I needed the bearings for my car. I don't know UK prices, but at least here in Finland the Renault price was outrageous as usual. :( Fortunately the bearings are ...

Re: Colour coding

I'm with Kingsize about having the surface texture smoothed prior to applying colour. If you just paint&lacquer the textured surface it won't match the gloss on the body panels as light reflects differently from the textured finish than from the smooth surface on the body panels. If you choose t...

Re: can i fit a 225 rear bumper on my 1.9 model

I had no problems whatsoever fitting one on my 2003 2.0 16V. Yours is 2006 and thus the facelift (and rearlift) model, but the 225 bumper is the same for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 225s, so will fit both pre and post-facelift models just as fine. Does the 1.9 dCi rear silencer exit pipe curve down and...

Re: Will 19"s rub?

Hi Ian and welcome on my part, too! :-) I'm the guy who was referred to as having 19s and coilovers: http://netti.nic.fi/~gordini/megane/takapuskuri/saleikot_paikallaan_3.jpg You definitely CAN pull off both the 19s and lowering without rubbing (other than what Wanda quite cleverly pointed out). :D ...

Re: 225 front bumper

Yes.

Provided you fit a Phase 2 bumper to a Phase 2 car, and make sure you get the bumper undertray and wheelarch liner extension pieces with it.

Fitting an older Phase 1 bumper to a newer Phase 2 car (or vice versa) requires the change of headlights and their supports from the other Phase car.

Re: TheFinn's modded one

back wiper going ? Not at this point anyhow. Here's continuation to a project that ground to a halt in November 2007! :dead It's the engine cover. Back then I managed to shave the four odd-looking "knobs" from the top of the cover (though here at the bottom of the picture): http://netti.n...

Re: Modifying my Megane 2 on a (tight) budget!

Hey guys, new to posting on the forum, but a keen reader. ... On another point, my mate has a set of 19" alloys at home that he had on his Touran, would it be possible to put these on my car??? Welcome to the forum! I'm afraid theTouran alloys won't fit as the Touran uses five wheel bolts and ...

Re: TheFinn's modded one

Thanks again for the feedback! :) I didn't want silver (you mean reflective?) tints as they stand out a bit too much to my liking. Here's a few pics of the backbox jobbie to get the gaping holes in the rear bumper filled: http://netti.nic.fi/~gordini/megane/takapuskuri/basso_pasanen_1.jpg http://net...

Re: TheFinn's modded one

Today brought some new mods. First I fitted a right-hand-side exhaust support in preparation for 225 backbox: http://netti.nic.fi/~gordini/megane/takapuskuri/kumityyny_sivulta.jpg Then it was off to the painter's to get some parts that were being colour-coded. For the first picture I didn't quite ge...

Sorry I haven't answered earlier, hadn't noticed these two replies since my last post....

I got mine from Germany, a company called Topauto.com. The lights are branded AuCo.

Re: Two new mods done

Looks very nice!! :!: The suppression of fog lights makes the "mouth" look wider which in turn makes it look lower as well.

That angle really does the front valance justice, hadn't realised before how mean it looks!

Re: wheels

hi all was wondering what the biggest wheels r i can fit on my megane without any arch work?? Can't say what the absolute maximum is, but a 225/35R19 tyre on an 8½x19" wheel (38mm offset) I can guarantee to fit, based on my own experience. Just found the ultimate tyre size comparer site! Here'...

Re: battery cover

You'll also need the captive nuts to bolt the rear of the cover to the metal support behind the battery. The front of the cover clips to the front slam panel, just can't remember if there's a separate clip for this and if it exists in cars that came without the cover? And there's also a third type o...
