Re: Automatic Headlights Sensor?
Typical. So if you need to change the windscreen, you not only have to faff about with the mirror, but also the light sensor. Sheesh, they'll be making you remove a wheel to change a lightbulb next..

Re: Just bought a Megane II - with a few hassles..
Just to add to the saga: The battery went flat when I fitted the resistor pack, due to the interior lights being on for ages. I thought it was ok after I'd charged it, but it refused to start at the weekend after a load of stop-start messing about. AA said the battery was junk. I've replaced the bat...

Re: Battery not very well..
Got a second hand Bosch 440 ah (original is 420) for £20. Fitted. Yes, I know, lazy bugger. (£5 for fitting) Plus my old battery. Slightly annoying, as I have an account with EMR and could have got a fiver for a dud battery.. Still, that should be that. The acid test will be if it starts after it's ...

Re: Good evening :-)
If there's a "diesel-like" clattering and/or stalling on first startup, it's likely to be the dephaser - expensive.. Check all electrical stuff eg central locking, windows. They fail all the time. Make sure the fan works on all settings - replacing the resistor pack is a pain. Also, make s...

Re: Sedan boot problems
Possibilities I can think of:
Electrical problem between switch and lock.
Lock broken/jammed.
Is there current to the switch?
Is the boot lock on a different fuse?
Did you ever get this sorted?

Battery not very well..
I spent a couple of hours yesterday on a wild goose chase involving knitted Pokemon. This meant a lot of stop-start incidents. About 2 miles from home, the Megane decided it had had enough and refused to start. :( Got the AA out and it turns out the battery can't cope.. Have you seen how much a new ...

Re: Water in storage box in drivers footwell
if i remember correct,it`s just held in with torx head screws,i think you have to remove the end panel from the dash (next to the door) to access some of them, but it is an easy job. sorry i can`t be more specific but it`s a while since i did mine. getting old and having to fix it so many times is t...

I don't get it..
I don't see the attraction. The Megane Sedan, I mean. For me, the whole point of the Megane II is that styling - in particular, the rear end. (Shakin' that ass!) So what is the point of the Sedan? Why buy a Megane that has been savagely beaten with the ugly stick? Looking at it, I'm guessing there i...

Re: Buying guide
My personal tips: Make sure all the electric windows and central locking work. Meganes are notorious for this. Make sure the heater fan works on all settings. If it has alloy wheels, make sure you get the key that opens the centre caps. If it has air-conditioning, check the carpets on the passenger ...

Re: I've no dip lights but have full beam?
If you have the "auto lights" feature, and it's switched on, the lights should come on anyway whether you switch them on or not. (with engine on and it's dark) I don't know if your car has this feature or not, though. On mine it was turned off and I got the "Auto Lights Disabled"...

Re: I've no dip lights but have full beam?
Have you checked the fuses? Dipped beam will be on a different fuse to main beam..
