Re: Manualy wind window back up.

remove the speaker and put your hand in, feel the wiring is it loose or wet, wiggle the connections and see if the switches are working again. This is a quick fix, alternative is to remove all panels and check all the wiring/connectors

Re: Steering arm inner linkage MOT fail

Thinkif theyd done the repairs theyd have been obligated to do the steering inner joint, but as it was taken away its classed as a fresh test. These used to be a problem on early mk II, before 2008, I had an 04(bought 1 year old) that had 3 sets and i sold it in 2009. As I said before an hours labou...

Re: Steering arm inner linkage MOT fail

Probably not as they will say that the wear on the inner joint was not visible due to ball joint wear. What you could try is saying you'll pay only for the part , last time i bought these they were about £40 but that was a few years ago and i think it was for a pair. Out of curiosity how much did he...

Re: Speedometer

Are all the other instruments dark ? if so look for the roller switch on the right of the dash, this contrrols the brightness. If its just the speedo and the rev counter is ok then it looks like the bulbs. Not expensive them selves but could be expensive to fix, not sure how long they allow for remo...

Re: Number plate lights and o/s side lights not working

What condition are teh number plate light bulb holders in, the holder and the pins corrode badly and my have broken and shorted out. I did a post on replacement bulb holders using 501 bulb holders and connecting the existing loom to the bulb holders with lucar connectors. Think its in hints and tips...

Re: Won't stay running until warm, help!

Also was it a genuine 02 sensor or a spurious one, if the latter was the wiring already joined to a connector or did you have to solder/use crimp terminals ? remember working at a vauxhall main dealer and we had someone come in with the engine management light on, Astra C and theyd just had the o2 s...

Re: rear wheel wobbling

Whats the condition of the rear discs? are they new with good surface, old with a rough braking area ? If new it might be a loose nut but could also be a faulty bearing that has collapsed. Until you get the dust cover off you wont be able to tell. Reason for asking if new discs is that the bearings ...
