Re: Will not run when warm says check injectors
Good thinking. One of the listed codes "short circuit to the ground" probably was causing secondary electrical problems. Well done!

Re: 2008 Expression Estate rear door conundrum
Demister-wiper "cooperation" may be caused by a broken earth circuit, in theory... It can be in the loom or a separate wire. At this point my experience with the tailgate stops, never had problems with it.

Re: Battery Change
With a new battery the car is supposed to start straight away, with the first turn of the crankshaft. There might be another fault somewhere. Check the cover of the headlight access hatch on the front left wheel arch liner. If it's missing, then the PSU gets wet which affects all the electrics.

Re: Help with Exhaust fumes
Yours is a Megane, not Scenic. The aircon intake is in the bulkhead, which is isolated from the engine compartment. This, however, is not important, as there should be no fumes under the bonnet. You need to find where they are coming from - there are not too many things under the bonnet to examine.

Re: Will not run when warm says check injectors
It's not "injectors", but "injection", meaning the injection computer. How did it happen that there are so many codes? What's the full story?

q292u and Shogun,
Bosch S5 and Varta Silver have a special profile of the electrodes, which make them less likely to fall apart under high load and wear conditions. In my opinion, these are better value for money in a long run.

Re: rear tailgate glass exploded
The rear screen was smashed in my old Meg before it was gone. Eventually I found a guy with a van who was repairing screens for our local dealer, and he replaced the glass on my driveway surprisingly cheaply. The job takes under an hour, but the weather has to be dry.

Re: Battery size?
I think so, but check with a site which sells batteries by car model. I used the battery you mentioned in 2003 1.9dci which is now gone. These Bosch S5 Batteries are excellent.

Re: make your diesel meg run better
Just use Shell regular - it's clean burning, high density, plus excellent Shell additives. If not Shell, then any cetane improver additive may help a little. Adding a small amount of 2 stroke oil to the fuel helps a bit, but not suitable for FAP. Millers EE engine oil reduces friction in the engine ...

Re: Electrical fault and car won't start
It's a good video, just a small correction. Use a clear dielectric silicone grease everywhere. It insulates, but the contacts cut straight through it. Don't use white grease, as it contains Teflon powder, which may prevent the contact. Please also check the headlight access hatch cover on the front ...

Re: Megane 1.6 16v 54 plate not starting
Injection + Stop lights mean a critical fault detected by the ECU. It may not be actually a critical fault, but some sensor malfunctioning. In any case, get an OBD reader and see what the ECU reports. ELM327 readers are cheap on eBay (a fiver or so) p!us you need some software for the phone or lapto...

Re: Headlamp Bulb replacement.
Yep, with Meg 2 it became a part of Renault culture to replace all bulbs annually with Osram while having the bumper removed, the tools polished and praying to the gods of electricity. In Meg 3 the bulbs last almost forever, which reminds me to have them replaced at some point. The reason I'm writin...

Re: Banning internal combustion engines
I don't disagree, actually. Of course new technologies are coming. At present, I see the electrical and self-driving vehicles propped by the political powers with the only significant benefit of making the owners dependent on the providers, whoever they are. This is the reason I jumped into this con...

Re: Banning internal combustion engines
In caves people were burning wood at 16.2 MJ/kg energy density (and with very low efficiency due to drafts). These days we burn petrol in cars at 46.4 MJ/kg energy density and up to 30% efficiency minus transmission losses at about 15%. Electric cars are quite efficient at about 80%, but the energy ...
