Re: clunking from the rear

As already mentioned have a look at the exhaust. It could be the heat shield that is attached to the body of the car above the exhaust. Easy fix. It would cause a clunking noise.

Re: suspension clunk/knock

I think we should get together changing megane suspension for a living :-) . Practice makes perfect and having the exact tools on hand can speed the process up unbelievably. I too had to buy a bolt from Renault that cost £8, but that was the pinch bolt on the hub I think. The garage I had taken the ...

Re: Could I have bubbles in my fuel line? Car's Symptoms

if all you have to do is replace the pipe from the filter to the pump then you are laughing anything more and you might be struggling especially if you cant locate the fuel lines yourself. the lines are located on the left side of the engine bay as you look at it. if you have the black plastic trim ...

Re: stereo not working just beeps

you don't get anything on the display, and everything is connected properly. firstly re check the connections on the back. there should be 4 connections. 1 is the aerial and the other 3 are electrical. make sure they are all there and connected properly. turn your car on and check the display if sti...

Re: megane wont turn over

the first thing to check is the battery as you said you got the battery light. If the battery is ok check the cables to it. make sure they are fitted nicely. if not battery then possibly either starter motor or alternator also a injector fault would stop the car from starting if serious enough but w...

Re: Injection Fault & STOP 1.5 DCI

Check injection could be a million things but I would start with the least expensive parts first. Check for air in the fuel lines, a faulty priming bulb or seals on the fuel pipes could cause too much air in the fuel which could in turn cause less pressure and thus less fuel from reaching the inject...

Re: suspension clunk/knock

It is indeed a stupid e-torx bolt. Especially when you don't have any torx sockets or spanners.

Re: Drivers window completely stuck open

I wouldn't hold your breath for any discounted rate. If you can hear something running then its probably the motor struggling. In this case the problem may not be the module or the switch but the mechanism. A new one can cost between £40 and £80. The job itself is relatively easy if you have a Hayne...

Re: Problems since Timing belt

when time permits I will give that ago. To be honest im hoping that is the problem because its mechanical and I can cope with that. Electrics is beyond me. And a fuel problem could be so many things.

Thanks. :)

Re: Problems since Timing belt

It does rotate but with resistance through part of the rotation. I just presumed that was the norm as I couldn't remember what it felt like the very first time I did the timing. Ive definitely had that resistance since the first time. If that resistance is not normal than I guess it points at damage...

Re: Drivers window completely stuck open

Hi, Because you mention the light under the switch not on it could be the switch itself. Get a new one, they are easy to fit. If the problem persists and you are hearing the click then its most likely the temic module which you can replace. If you know how to take the door card off then the rest is ...

Problems since Timing belt

Hi all, Ive been tackling problems on my 1.5dci authentique 2004 for the last 2 years following the Haynes manual and have had great success and satisfaction. About 3mths ago I noticed a oil leak that seemed to be coming from the camshaft oil seal. So I checked the manual and realised it would be a ...

Re: Temperature and clock display do not work

That is odd. You may have to get behind the display to check for loose connections. Check your fuses although they are probably gona be fine. Good news is your display is probably ok as its all working with radio on. Have you done anything to the car recently The window is almost likely to be the mo...

Re: handbrake broken

From what I remember there are 2 cables running from each caliper under the car then through some holes into the body and up into the area where the handbrake is. These two cables are attached to another contraption that is then attached to the handbrake. You need to get at the workings of your hand...
