Re: 4 stud to 5 stud
I for one think that the Porsche wheels would be great for such a conversion. First of all the Porsche PCD is 130mm which makes for "easier" pitch circle diameter (PCD) adapters. Secondly, such PCD adapters are 25mm thick minimum, so if the Porsche wheel offset really is 65mm then you'd be...

Re: Has anyone heard of Drumsticks?
The cheapest eBay ones are often crap quality which only get you through one MOT.... I'd fork out a little more to get proper quality parts, original Renault or then Lemförder or equal.

Re: TheFinn's modded one
No ill effects on the handling, though obviously I haven't bothered to conduct a scientific with/without driving tests in similar road conditions... :D Surprised that the original front wheel bearings haven't given up the ghost yet, the rear ones did but that might be down to water having got inside...

Re: TheFinn's modded one
Let's see what's happened since my last post..... Managed to source a new genuine Renaultsport 225 rear bumper: http://netti.nic.fi/~gordini/megane/original_rs_rear.jpg Still on the lookout for a 225 front bumper. While waiting for one to show up I snapped up a pair of these ready to be installed in...

Re: Will 19" alloys fit my car
They will fit provided their offset is somewhere between 30 and 43 mm. Not quite sure of how professional the dealer is as they're offering different sized front and rear tyres; The front tyre option of 215/35R19 is too low for the Megane, you should go for 225/35R19 front and rear. I've 225/35R19 o...

Twingo RS tubular exhaust manifold. Remap should be done AFTER all the other mods, or then a new remap after each mod (which becomes rather costly....)

Re: Alloy fitment
Yes they fit the 1.4 (259mm front brakes as in the Clio) but not necessarily the bigger-engined Meganes (280mm front brakes).
The Megane offset is actually 45-49, but anything down to 25 fits if you don't go with a tyre over 205mm wide.

Re: fitting spax-45 springs
No problems really, just remember to support the rear trailing arm when removing the shock absorber lower bolts, so that the arms don't hang freely and put all their weight on the rubber bushes.

Re: alloy wheel fitting
Hard to say without seeing the wheels in person, but most aftermarket wheels are drilled for conical bolt seats with a 60 degree cone. The Renault bolts used with the Nervasports are just this type, with the nice addition of a separate spacer under the bolt's head that prevents the bolt from eating ...

Re: Megane Sports Saloon...a bit different...CarPC inside
The bumper has all the fixings like the original one, even the tow bar is fully functional. So does it mean it's an amalgam of the original saloon rear bumper and an original RS lower part, the two plastic-welded together? Or is it glassfiber? Any pics of it in the making? The trunk lid was also mo...

Re: Subtle upgrades
Basically you need to get the overall diameter as close to the recommended size as you can, the speedo reading wont be accurate either and ride might be a bit harsher. Plus it'll look ridiculous (in my opinion...) to have such tiny tyres in the humongous Megane wheelarches. By tiny I mean that the ...
