Re: POLLEN FILTER RENEWAL

The filter will only go in one way.. The frame of the filter is designed to "break" at the splits so it looks like one of those toy plastic snakes..
You then feed the filter in section by section.. It will NOT go in if it is rigid..

Re: Can't see in the dark whilst reversing.

The reverse switch is located on top/side of the gearbox casing.. To test if it is working you need to unplug the connector and use a piece of wire to short the two pins out.. If the light illuminates then the switch is at fault.. Purchase a new switch. You will need a 24mm spanner to loosen the old...

Re: What is the UPC?

The UPC is the "universal Power Control" module.. It is actually a "semi-intelligent" fuse box.. ;-) .. that is located in the nearside of the engine bay.. These fail generally due to water ingress as their loaction is just asking for trouble, even with the improved (modified) co...

Re: Airbag/Service light, clicking steering - rotary switch?

"Rotary switch" failure is common.. and Yes if the flexi tape in the "switch" is broken this will illuminate the service and airbag light. The flexi tape is a plastic strip that carries the drivers airbag wiring. It is coils round the column inside the switch housing and allows t...

Re: rattle when turning at low speed

Is it outside the vehicle? Have the front pads been replaced recently, if so are the anti rattle clips still in place? I have seen this many times before with "aftermarket" pads. They don't come with new springs. So the "mechanic" removes the old springs thinking that they are ob...

Re: service

When you say "service" light.. Do you mean.. 1: The top display saying service due? or 2: The word Service below that? If it is No1 then depending on model year and engine type the service due indicator knows when an oil change should be carried out.. If it is No 2 the this is the negine m...

Re: megane 2 cooling fan not working

Yep it could be.. If one vehicle has climate control and the other only A/C then that could be root of the problem.. The UCH may just need to be reconfigured by your dealer using CLIP.. But I can't guarantee that would be the solution. On the other hand it is more likely that the pinouts as differen...

Re: oil filler

Or pull the rubber pipe of the righthand side of the oil seperator (where the dipstick is) ensuring that the other end is still attached to the block.. Fill through the pipe directly into the sump. You won't have to wait to check the level.. That is the recommended way of doing it at the dealership..

Re: starting problems when warm/hot

Ok in this case my first test would be to monitor the fuel pressure when the engine is being cranked.. If it looks low/lowish then an Injector Leak-off (leak back) test should be carried out.. The bosch injectors do fail and will show up as excess leak-off and therefore causing low fuel pressure on ...

Both lights fail at the same time?

Are you sure that it is the bulbs that are defective? and not the ballasts? or the supply to them?

Re: Cost of cambelt service 1.9 Dci

The 1.9DCi is an easy belt to replace even for the home mechanic.. The book time is 1.7 hrs..

If you are around the swindon area then I would do it for £200 using a "Gates" belt kit which is the same item as your dealer will use..
