Re: '53 plate Megane, 33k miles - Cambelt needed at 5yrs???
Just replacing the cambelt will NOT cure a defective De-Phaser.. It will require a new pulley.. I would recommend that the pulley is replaced when the new belt is done, if it is indeed defective.. I would Not advise that it is replaced at a later date as this would neccessitate the removal/refit of ...

Re: '53 plate Megane, 33k miles - Cambelt needed at 5yrs???
My dad's Vectra has the cambelt work done based on mileage, not age... Wrong , The Vectra interval is 4 years or 40K miles for the cambelt change.. It was originally set at 80K but due to a raft of cambelt idler pulley failures it was reduced to 40K.. Note that you MUST fit a complete Cambelt "...

Re: Air bag warning lights!
The issue with the seat airbag looms is due to "micro cuts" in the underseat connectors.. This is a very well know and documented problem within the dealer network.. I have replaced loads of them under warranty. Which is fine till you have to pay.. It takes approx 45 minutes to replace eac...

Re: 5 year service
The 5th year service is the cambelt and accessory belt replaced.. (5yrs or 72K) Plus the 72K service schedule, that includes Oil & Air filter.. If you had the 4th year service done last time then it should have included the Brake fluid and Coolant being replaced.. If it were me then £400 would c...

Re: Does anyone know how to Bleed a Clutch?
They do not self bleed.. Some models are fitted with a sliding union that requires the circlip to be pulled partially out to allow the union to slide towards the passengerside so opening the bleed hole on the union body.. The bleeding procedure is however the same which ever type of union is fitted..

Re: Does anyone know how to Bleed a Clutch?
The clutch resevoir is part of the brake fluid resevoir.. To bleed the clutch you need to have a pressure type or suction type bleeding bottle and an assistant to be in the vehicle.. Firstly top the resevoir up and connect the pressure bleeder to the resevoir or suction type to the nipple.. Have you...

However aftermarket HID installations are: 1: Illegal 2: Is an MOT failure.. 3: Blinding to oncoming drivers as the light is diffused and scattered. (as bad or if not worse than using front foglights in clear conditions as it obviously looks "cool"!!) See here https://meganeownersclub.co.u...

Re: cambelt snapped.03- 1.9 cdi
You must make sure that you get the correct headgasket as there are different thicknesses..
This can be compared by taking the old headgasket to the factors/dealer and comparing the number of slots on Old with New one..

Re: Firing Sequence Of Megane 2 1.6 2003
The firing order is 1342. with cylinder 1 being at the flywheel end.. Note however this engine use "wasted spark" ignition. That means that the the plug fires twice in the 4 stroke cycle. Once on the compression, and then again on Exhaust.. Cylinders 1 & 4 are connected as a pair as ar...
