Is the new turbo definitely the correct one for your car?
Is it down on power too?
Is it running OK, no smoke from exhaust, etc?

Re: Exhaust
As far as I know they are mild steel. My car is 7 years old and still running the original exhaust. I suppose if the engine was n't getting up to full temperature - lots of 2-4 mile journeys it would corrode due to the condensation that would form inside. I suppose long exhaust life makes up for the...

Re: My 1.9 diesel CC engine problem! (blue smoke+loss of pow
Blue smoke suggests it's burning oil, it could be the turbo, although they usually rev themselves to destruction if that's the case. Probably pistons/rings failed. Difficult to diagnose without seeing it. Sorry to say this but it sounds expensive.

Drivers window, probably the regulator assembly - £300 at dealers.
Noise could be the cables that operate the parcel shelf mechanism.

No , you've just been unlucky. It is a VERY common fault. Google it and see just how common!!!
French and electronics - never a good combination. As I've said before great cars when they are working, but the electrics are total garbage!!

Re: Alarm
We have had the alarm go off a few times on ours, no apparent reason, then it also occasionally would say the door was open even though it was n't. Open and close the doors and the message would go. I was thinking that maybe the false alarms could be caused by the door switch only just registering t...

Re: high mileage cc
If you can get it for £1000, then fair enough I suppose, you could get that back selling it for spares, when it eventually dies, given that the Renault stealers want to charge me £140 for a door lock for the drivers door on my car!!!

To be blunt unless they are literally giving it away, with that mileage and those faults, there is n't a barge pole long enough I'd touch that with!

Parts manual -need a part number???
Hi,
Does anyone have or know where I can get hold of a parts manual for the Megane? I need a door lock for the drivers side and have hopefully found one online - but I need the part number to be certain.

Re: Front coil spring replacement???
Parts cost me Approx £70 for 1 spring and top mount, double those prices if from Renault. £210 sounds a lot for a couple of hours work????

Re: 2006 1.6vvt idling problem
With regard to "rough" idling, mine is perfectly smooth and you can't hear it at all inside the car. In fact, I sometimes have to check the rev counter to make sure it's running!! Does n't help with the fault, but at least you know that there is definitely a fault with yours.
