can you see the full lock mechanism?

you should have a really small notch on it that if you apply a little force with a flat head screw driver, will pop the lock?

worth a shot mate 27 is pretty poor, are you thrashing it through small raods and short trips, diesels just dont do well in towns on start stop trips, check around injectors for any leaks, but yes fill up the tank and maybe add some injector cleaner to the tank, and take it straight onto a motorway ...

in the card there's a bit that pull's out and reveals a key, then go to door handle, aqnd one will have a picure of the key on the bullit part of the door handle assembly, pop the cover off and turn the key, then in you go and pop bonnet

may be an injector problem,

any other symptoms?

you can get it on a duagnostics at most garages around 40 quid mate,

mine when static at idle revs is a tad rough but think thats down to engine mounts

you could try a service, 50 quid new filters etc

fair one bud i'm just a penny pincher and reluctant to spend out on any car, always search for the bargain first lol, that try apparently does have some drainage ports in it but never looked myself so cant direct you to where, its designed to collect the water but as i say when its got a fair bit in...

if its working 6/10 may just be a loose connection apposed to something broken, people normally only get 4 so this is odd.

simple fix though mate, get one off a scrap car for cheap it'll be fine and a few bolts job done.

the syncro mesh in the gear box is done for(possibly this one)

possibly the starter motor running on mate without doing its job, or a belt slipping, really hard to guess, but most wines come from those areas,

it should be a a bolt on its own mate there's no nut to it, just keep turning, but if its loose, then apply some upward force to the brace bracket as you unscrew, i've never donme mine, and its not hear or i'd go have a proper look mate. from other cars that strip with the bolt is all that it is and...

should be a clamp of some sort, there may be a strip clamp running along the bottom with 1 bolt holding it down, have a look around the base, these are on most cars or a belt

oh and mist is just the condensation from all the internal dampness, i get in sometimes and the gauges are covered etc.

hi steve have exactly the same issue, i'm believe its the standing water from under the plastic cover from the wipers, basically where the wiper motor is there's a long tray all across under the black platic where water gathers, and when turning it runs back and forth and its echo'd through the dash...

why bother, you still have to adjust your lazy arm to use press the button! so just add a tiny turn on the movement and save all the hassles :cool:
