Re: Codes and warning message

I had a DF038 and a couple of other voltage related messages at the same time when I had a flat battery once.
I charged the battery, cleared the codes and it has been fine ever since.
Are your battery and all the main power and earth connections in good condition?

Re: Spring broken

Probably not. The convertible definitely has different springs to all other variants. Just put your registration number into eurocarparts and see what part numbers it gives for replacements. Then get a registration number of a car with the same year but the other body type off Autotrader, and put th...

Re: Megane II 1.9 dci smoking white

Yes. If brake fluid leaks from a brake master cylinder into the vacuum servo, then you can get clouds of white smoke coming out of the exhaust.

Re: Megane 2006 Dynamique hard top window problem

I had my original module repaired by this guy four years ago, and it has been perfect ever since - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-MEGANE-2-cabriolet-window-repair-of-Temic-regulator-module/254176479194?hash=item3b2e1947da:g:ivoAAOSwYVlaLvJP&frcectupt=true . Very fast turnaround as well.

Re: a pillar / windscreen trim removal mk 2 megane cc

After you have removed the trim, then prise out all the plastic retaining clips from the A pillar. Refit all the plastic clips, one at a time to the trim panel, then align all the trim clip pointed ends with the holes in the A pillar and press the trim panel back into place. Finally refit the one to...

Re: Megane MK11 2009 CC vin sticker

A Mk2 Megane CC shows the VIN number, and then below that are the following weights - 1880 Kg 2850 Kg 1-1060 Kg 2-1000 Kg But I don't think you need it for the MoT as long as you can still read the VIN number at the bottom of the windscreen, as it only has to be in one place. The MoT test manual say...

Re: Won't start

It shouldn't do.
I've removed and refitted my battery several times and the only additional thing I've had to do is re-input the security code on the stereo.

Re: First start grinding noise - drives fine when started

Grinding noise whilst the starter motor is spinning sounds like the starter motor is not engaging properly with the ring gear on the flywheel. Remove the starter motor and temporarily connect it to the battery using jump leads to make sure the solenoid operates properly. If it doesn't, then replace ...

Re: Megan 2 cc A pillar external panel damaged

Both of mine have come detached over the years, and left flapping around held in just with the torx screw at the top. I've tried various glues with varying success, but none last long. The strength required from the glue is made worse for me by the fact that my outer aluminium layers are now slightl...

Re: Timing belt breakage

Yes it will wreck the engine. The 1.9DCi is an "interference" design, which means the pistons and valves occupy the same space but at different times, ... unless the belt brakes and then they try to occupy the same space at the same time!

Re: 1.9dci power loss solved!!!

This brake pedal switch problem manifests itself as a very brief loss of power, see here - https://www.meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21585

That doesn't sound like the general " really down on power" that you are describing.

Re: Electronic Fault

I think you should get the codes read using the Renault CAN CLIP tool and not just a generic snapon one.
If it says Electronic fault on the dash, then there will be an error code stored somewhere, it's just that the snapon tool can't read it.

Errors with "Watchdog activation" message

Hi, I've got "Injection Fault" and "Stop" warnings up on the dash of my 1.9DCi. So, I've read the codes and CLIP comes up with DF038 - 6.DEF, and it says that 6DEF means "Watchdog activation". But, I haven't got a clue what that means or what this watchdog is that has b...

Re: OSF roof Knocking noise

My nsf latch came loose a few years ago. I just tightened a screw or two (I can't remember exactly) on the bit on the top of the windscreen surround that the roof catch connects to and it has been fine ever since.
