Clean out your scuttle drains before it's too late!
A quick warning to you fellow Mégane II owners. We have two in our household so are well aware of the common issues. I recently opened the underfloor cubby in Mum's '03 Privilege to find it nearly full to the brim with water! Chucked it all out with a jug and was waiting for a better day to clean ou...

Re: 85MPG after fitting Cruise
I really must get round to fitting cruise control. Although I've got a feeling that my 2.0 Petrol won't ever display a figure like that on it's MPG screen! I went retro fitting mad this time last year - heated seats and tyre pressure sensors were really easy to do. The original xenon headlights and ...

Re: MOT's and questions thereon.
It's stories like that that me happy our Northern Irish system is different. A car can ONLY be MOTd at dedicated government-run testing centres. There's no profit for them in failing a car unnecessarily on something as they obviously wont't be carrying out the repairs. Much better, the UK mainland n...

Re: Thinking of buying a 2003 Megane II
Hmm I would have to disagree on pre-2005 Méganes being the ones to avoid. I have an '03 2.0 VVT Dynamique and my Mum has an '03 1.6 VVT Privilège. Aside from the usual Renault electrical niggles, both cars have so far been excellent. Mine now has 91k on the clock, I bought it two years ago with 58k ...

Re: Hello Fellow Mégane Owners
Hi and welcome... I like people who bother to put the é in Mégane
No better way to welcome you in to Mégane ownership than a headlight bulb change! Enjoy!

My first was a Renault Clio 1.2 MTV, replaced with a Vel Satis, then the Meggy!

A nice mix so far
I nearly bought a Twingo GT instead of the Mégane, an excellent little car.

My other car is a....
I thought it would be interesting to see what car your Meggy shares the driveway with. Mine sits with a Renault Avantime. Despite being the 3.0 V6 model, the Mégane is still faster, the Avi is definitely a cruiser! It's a mad car, completely dwarfs the Mégane, and gets comments everywhere it goes. T...

Re: 2.0 ltr 16v VVT Dynamique
A very nice engine, and quite a rare one to find in the Meggy
I get about 33 MPG around town, and it will rise to 36 on a motorway run. I don't have the lightest right foot so I'm very pleased with that

Re: New Car
Another 2.0 VVT 3 door appears! We're a rare breed :-) I really doubt the remap would be worth the hassle or money, the engine is rapid as it is! Just after spending a week with my Mum's 1.4 Mégane. Got back in to the 2 litre this evening and had a huge smile on my face... it's quicker than my V6 Av...

Sounds a beautiful Mégane
Despite the extra road tax, you'll really enjoy the panoramic roof. I have it open in winter with the heated seats on!
