Re: All sorts ?

Hi there,
apart from maybe the battery is playing up (this could well be the problem) and the clutch pedal switch may be faulty, you need diagnostics to check for fault codes.
Hopefully that will put you in the right direction.
Good luck
Bob.

Re: Air lock

Hi again,
just noticed you say sometimes cut out. When you read the fault codes, it has probably recorded low fuel pressure.
Clear all the codes, then run engine for a few minutes without it cutting out, then read codes again. This will give what is wrong now.
Cheers Bob.

Re: Air lock

Hi,
with an actual airlock, diesels usually don't start or just cut out.
sounds like it could be anything. You need to check for any fault codes first.
lf there are none, then it probably would be fuel related. Otherwise, you are stabbing in the dark.
Good luck

Hi,
l reckon you would be better off feeding on auxilary, then it will work on position 1, don't need ignition on. ( cigar lighter )

Re: Brake pads

Hi,
look up eurocarparts and put your registration number in, then select brake parts, make a note of part number.

Re: Engine pic of wire coming from sensor on intercooler

Hi,
l reckon that's the boost pressure sensor.
3 wires best described as pink, yellow and grey, come from the thicker loom in your picture.
Undo the loom a bit, you should find something.

clicked img but not working so can't show picture.
Good luck

Re: "Check Injection" and Service light on when I hit 3200rpm.

Hi there, l've got the 1.9 dci with 6 gears so rarely go over 2,000 revs. As l understand, the boost pressure sensor is the same as a MAP sensor. My guess is that it needs cleaning, or the inlet manifold needs cleaning out. The EGR dumps exhaust into it and they can get clogged up thus restricting t...

Re: 1.9 F9Q Engine Tapping / Knocking and sometimes screeches

Hi, l think you need an experienced mechanic to look and listen to your engine. The you tube videos sound like l said, camshaft noise and faulty piston noise, but that's only my opinion. This may not be the case with yours if the noise isn't constant. You also need to see if there are any fault code...

Re: 1.9 F9Q Engine Tapping / Knocking and sometimes screeches

Hi,
from what l heard the cam is gone and the second one sounds like a piston gone.
l wouldn't bank on driving it far this summer or any summer unless you buy a new engine.
As you said, it's served you well.
Good luck

Re: Bloody bulbs again.. The diamond of doom strikes yet again..

Gone are the days of simply changing a bulb. You're lucky you can afford Halfords, the rest of us have bruised and cut hands and full swear boxes. Last MOT, mine failed on bulbs alignment, no idea why as it hasn't had a bump. l think they've thought of something new to moan about, like when a few ye...

Re: I think I've bought a bad megane dci..

Hi, you say 'bits and bobs of service history' When you buy a low mileage car, you need the history for the first 3 years. lf it is low mileage, believe me, you don't lose the service book. lf you don't have the records from registration, you can't rely on the mileage. lf you'd known you would have ...
