Re: Tyres: Best Before...

£35 I wish I was paying £35 a tyre. I won't buy budget tyres though and 17" tyres in the correct Megane size are working out around the £100-£110 mark. They were more expensive for my 16" equipped Scenic with its larger side walls and my Espaces 18" Continentals are costing about £18...

Re: Toxic fume warning light

the vibration was horrendous i felt like i was in a blender

Definatly the coil then. Scary isn't it? Can't be good for the engine mounts thinking about it. Its not unsual for coils to fail in pairs either aparantly.

coming to a stop. But yeah still won't start straight away everytime.... My old 2003 1.6 Megane behaved exactly like that, I also had the camshaft sensor replaced, but the same problem as yours remained with starting, then the bag of spanners appeared and its was the pulley. Someone kindly wrote th...

Re: creating a jack socket - tuner list

You need a box of tricks - its not a simple cable like the update list has.

http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=CTARNIPOD003

Theres also a slightly cheaper version that just gives the 3.5mm jack.

In your signature doesn't it say you also have a HID lighting kit?

Re: Hi all! Flashing Fume Light (sometimes)

Again I'd be looking at the TDC/Camshaft sensor but who knows. Usuaully that light generates a fault code which will give you the exact or approximate issue. I would be interested to know which it is when you find out. The TDC sensor sits at the top of the engine and can easily be unclipped to check...

Re: Toxic fume warning light

Try it, remove a coil. drive at 45 in 3/4th and no engine mang' light. Do the same in 5th and the light will be on. No light I was driving in 5th in my old 1.6 VVT before realising what had happened. The car vibrated violently whilst stationary, not going to do it to my car but my mates 2.0 T engin...

I thought the Mark 1 needed to be reset using one of those CLIP thingies? I'm sure someone on the Scenic Forums came to that conclusion.

Clearly a pack gone as found.

Strange as alot of coil pack failures do not produce that light and the car vibrates quite violently at idle.
