Re: 1.5 DCI oil change intervals
Oil Filter Spec. I recently did an oil and filter change on a Megane II 1.5dci 106ps and found that the Renault dealers had fitted the "wrong" oil filter at the last service. I looked at the FRAM website which specifies a PH5796 filter. The Renault dealer had fitted a 82 00 768 927 filter...

Re: timing belt change
I think it is different from one country to another. I've seen service booklets with 10.000 km service interval for oil and oil filter. :nut I cover this mileage in 2 months sometimes, so I should go and service my car every 2 months??? Another thing is that long service intervals influence the buye...

Re: Megane DCI 1.5 Idling Issues
What rpm are we talking about? Anything in the range of 750 (when warm) to 1300 (when very cold) is OK. Vibrations can come from engine mountings.

so does that mean the car has got a built in handsfree ?
It could, but if there is no aerial, then there is no hands-free. That can only be pre-installation for hands-free.

It wouldn't fit into your car. The gearbox and engine configuration is totally different from 1.5 dCi.

Re: 1.6 dci engine
It is coming to Megane III Phase 2, and I don't have any doubts about durability. This engine blok is a real deal, and I suppose that all the moving parts will be given special treatment for wear (a "silent" timing chain, mirror finished crankshaft and camshaft journals, nano finished cam,...

Re: Megane - Smoking Exhaust
Could be it's toast, but could be OK. The most probable fault is turbine shaft bearing. If there was some oil in the engine at all times, the engine still could be saved, provided the journal bearings on the crankshaft are still there, together with the tappets in the head...
