Re: Mounting and Engine problem must be careful

That's ridiculous! If by 'they' you are referring to a dealer, I would want it escalated to Renault, VOSA and whoever else I could get interested. Aside from what might have happened to you, it may not be an isolated case. I've driven cars that are held together by faith alone in my time and have ne...

What his house WAS like. I just heard a 737 pilot passing overhead made a mistake and landed on it!

Re: Hardwire

Unclip the trim panel under the key card slot.

Unclip the trim around the gear lever gaiter and pull it up to remove it.

Prise the handbrake trim panel forward to remove it

Prise up the trim panel behind the gear lever

Unclip the console top panel

The lighter can now be unclipped if necessary

Re: PIMPED!!!!

The clue is in the number plate. My guess is it belongs to an old fifties throwback who kept toppling off his Vespa. As such, he has shown remarkable restraint or else has not finished. Expect the chequered mudflaps and extra mirrors to be installed when you see it next. You don't show the interior ...

Re: Hardwire

Why not take the feed off the back of the cigarette lighter socket? Perhaps better still, I have 'hard-wired' a 3-way accessory socket (from Halfords) this way and hidden it behind the dashboard. I just permanently plug my Sat-Nav and phone charger which both then retain their own internal fuses for...

Re: I Feel Depressed

It's called Tuner List or Update List but I believe they vary slightly according to year and which Renault it came from. There should be loads on eBay or someone here might have one. Your CD changer may not work right away as I think they have to be coded to the HU.

Re: Update List/Connect2 CTARNS003 Compatibility Issue

I don't have an Update List (or Tuner List which is probably the same in this particular respect) so this is not from experience but from memory you have to press a button with a music note on it until it beeps. This takes you into Expert Mode as discussed by ace in the previous post (or maybe you h...

Re: renault fuel problems

Since you've got no answers yet, I thought I'd look in the workshop manual for the regular Megane. The fuel pump is only in the tank on the petrol models. According to the Haynes manual, the Diesels' "fuel is drawn from the fuel tank to the high pressure pump by a low pressure transfer pump int...

Re: Power Mirrors

This response relates to the regular hatch/sedan so may differ. To remove the shell only: Removing the glass should reveal the four retaining tabs which can be released with a small screwdriver (and not too much force). The outer shell should come off easily. To remove the whole mirror assembly: Pri...

Re: SERVICE light and Airbag light on

Just a note for anyone referring to this thread at some later time. It's important to state that the airbag system remains charged for some minutes after the ignition is turned off so there must be some risk that disconnecting and reconnecting before this time has elapsed might trigger the seat airb...

Re: Cooled Glovebox

Got to be the most useless piece if equipment on the car. Why why why? I've had this on a few cars lately and, admittedly, haven't really used it but my question would be "why not?" I can imagine a use for it and since it costs wirtually nothing to run an outlet pipe from the existing A/C...

Re: Drain Holes help

You omitted to say which drain holes. Assuming you mean the ones below the windscreen, you need to take off the windscreen wiper arms followed by the shield that covers the bulkhead well in which the wiper motor sits. From memory you need to: 1 Mark the position of the wipers on the screen with some...

Re: Stuttering/Dead wipers

As has been suggested, water can get into the motor if the area it sits in gets flooded. Even if the drain holes in the bulkhead area are only partially blocked, the area will flood in heavy rain and possibly have drained by the time you look. One member recently had this problem and realised that b...
