What about the asymmetry of the dipped beam, LHD vs. RHD? Aren't Continental headlights a no-no in the UK, and vice versa? I mean they will glare the oncoming traffic won't they?

I ordered the Renault kit off eBay the other day. Still a bit pricey but only half of what it probably would have cost at my local stealer.

Will report as soon as it arrives and have it plugged in.

Depends on how loud you want to listen. ;) The standard woofers do "bottom out" quite easily i.e. the bass gets all distorted, especially at the back doors. And you don't even need ridiculous volume levels to achieve that. E.g. the famous Pioneer TS-Q131C front speakers hardly produce more...

No no, I was talking about the yellow CONNECTOR as a whole, not the yellow wire. The yellow wire is indeed, as you mentioned, CLK.

And yes I still have all the equipment from my first post.

Hi TheFinn Did you manage to sort out your problem? Did you manage to keep your display and controls? Regards Paul Hi Paul, I haven't sorted out the problem yet but am working on it. Despite the problems I do have both the controls and the display, although the formers function rather erratically, ...

I agree with you Jon: once you've tasted the xenon goodness there's no going back! :) The units cost a whopping 360 € the pair. :( ***digs a self-justification spreadsheet out of the drawer*** But I'd managed to clear my garage of some surplus stuff like a set of alloys etc., so self-justifying it l...

@Jon: Yours are the "3 LED version", right? The light/dark barrier in itself looks very nice and sharp despite the xenons causing those dark spots. Did you test them with halogen bulbs at all or go straight for xenons? I was already on the verge of ordering those black Raid AAs in Steel's ...

where did you buy this from? i'm tempted to try one out - because the facotry-fitted antenna is damn ugly! It's made by Calearo - I bought it from my local ICE garage here in Finland. If your from the UK then I'm afraid there might not be a distributor in your country... But if you're after good FM...

Xenon 10-way connector P/No?

I'm trying to find the Renault part number for the rectangular 10-way electrical connector that connects to the Ph. I xenon headlights. Unfortunately I have no picture of the connector itself, but its counterpart in the headlight can be seen in the second picture of this post on the French CC Forum....

The first place to check would be the multiconnector under the (driver's?) front seat. A poor contact there is often the cause for the warning light coming on.

If that doesn't help then we'll need to troubleshoot further...

My guess is just a clip that holds the actuator cable's sleeve has come loose. Could be either end of the sleeve I think: the control panel or the air distribution box. Maybe when you pushed the HU in, its cables and connectors got jammed against the actuator cable, put pressure on it and pushed the...

@renier: The original antenna and the new shark fin both have built-in amplifiers. Now that I've removed the original antenna I can say they're both even from the same manufacturer (Calearo)! It's true that the shark fin's reception is poorer than that of the original due to its physical properties,...
